This looks identical to my mammas panne she baked when we came to the US. Before we left, we lived in Napoli for some years but Sicilia is home..30 min or so outside of Catania..most our life we never baked bread then bc each area had a baker or two that came in morning after the milkman. The panne was just baked, wrapped in brown paper. Mamma Mia questo panne like heaven. Always came the man con verdure e’ frutta, fresh ricotta also mozzarella di buffalo. No, Nonna’s not making bread IN the sink, she’s making bread in a BOWL which happens to be in the sink. It’s easier for her to reach into the bowl when it’s in the sink rather than on the counter. Makes perfect sense, dear Nonna Pia! You do you! We love you! ❤
