I cant tell you the happiness this particular video has given me. My Nonna who passed away 10 years ago used to use the phrase time to eat. I replay this video it brings back the best memories.

I just love Nonna Pia, she is so sweet, the way she looks at you when you say something that she learned as a teenager!!!! lol

That’s how our mothers cut things in Italy, way back when there were no cutting boards. My mom cooked everything in an open fire place, the women took their bread to the town ovens to be baked. It was truly a village. The whole town pooled their grapes together and made wine that everyone shared. Yes, back in the 50’s they did stomp the grapes by foot. My mom trained all of our girls to cut like that, I have lots of cutting boards, but cut my vegetables in my hands.
