The American Dream is all about who can accumulate the most material things in ones lifetime and drowning in debt. NO THANK YOU! Great video Kevin, you’re so right

Its called the American dream because you’ve got to be asleep to believe it.

I heard a saying a long time ago. It goes something like this: "People buy things they can't afford to impress people they don't like" .

It's a draining of the soul game.

Here in England, the Government are always saying, work hard and you will get whatever you want, but this is not reality as wages are low and everything is so expensive.
It is all a big con.
It is much better to enjoy the simple things like watching a sun rise, a sun set, watching the waves come on to the beach and watching the birds and other wildlife in the forest.
Very best wishes.

The U.S. is for most people living on a never ending treadmill. The faster you run the faster the treadmill runs.
After you pay off your house the ever increasing property tax will drive you out of it.
I don't see any future in this country unless it changes.

At 54, one thing i've learned, is that time is more precious than money.

What good is it if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul in the process.

Yup, I'm 40 years old and in my young 20s I worked at several manufacturing companies in the south and realized then that you are just a slave, got tired of the 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and all the money I made went to food and rent, bills, etc, you pull in to park and you see the office people driving bmws and Mercedes and the rest of the back parking lot is full of junky cars, got out of that and started working for myself, even today people are struggling and it's all on purpose, people say "work two jobs", lol, not realistic at all.just live life and enjoy the good things while your here.

Outstanding message! It’s such a materialistic world and we’ve been brainwashed to think the more possessions the better. It’s not true. Sad that it takes us all our lives to realize the lie.

Your one pay check away from being homeless in America.

It’s the same here in New Zealand. I saw my dad work his whole life away, a complete slave to the system. Only to get cancer and use his life savings to pay for treatment and living expenses while he died a slow excruiciating death, well before his time. I couldn’t stand to see my partner follow the same path, we got rid of everything. We own what we need, and we’re learning to live off the land. We are happy. We get to enjoy our kids. I feel so sorry for everyone who is still stuck in the system.

Yes this is true Kevin. I did jobs I mostly hated all my life but when you aquire commitments and responsibilities you stick it out which you should. The thing is which you don't know at the time is to not get trapped in the cycle of more work for more stuff that doesn't bring happiness at all.

All my working life I have been able to quit at the drop of a hat. Because I did not have to worry about a wife and kids.
That should be message enough.

I really hope Kevin keeps preaching this message, because he's like an Olde Time prophet who tells people about things before they happen. Because I think more people in America are gonna have to learn this and will find themselves in a bad situation before you know it. This living paycheck-to-paycheck and spending much more than they earn, just can't keep going.

Preach it, brother! I had open heart surgery in 2008. That is when my life changed. I downsized, retired in 2016 at 52 with zero debt. I was fortunate to have a civil service job that I did not get laid off or fired from for 30 years. I've always driven older paid for cars. But, now, I have less income and continue to live frugally and below my means. It's actually satisfying. For me, personal happiness is not feeling like I have to be a slave to all the things you mentioned. As adults, peer pressure is stronger than when we were children and teenagers. When you realise how silly all this pomp, circumstance and so called "tradition" is, you allow yourself to be more financially and mentally free. Kudos to you and God Bless. Less materialism. More spiritualism and love and selfless compassion for others.

Wise words Kevin! It isn't only in America it is here in the Czech republic as well. It's probably everywhere... I am very happy I found your channel. Thanks Kevin! 👍🧡🙏

I learned this in Canada, high school social studies in the 1970’s. Finally people are realizing it’s true. The American dream may exist as a dream, but it is untrue. So sorry Americans. We in other countries knew this all along. Life is better elsewhere!

Very well said sir. Some of what you spoke of reminds me of what King Solomon of the Bible wrote in his latter years. On the "American Dream", I think it used to be more attainable. Nowadays, not so much. "American Nightmare" definitely YES.
