Its very slow but unique nobody dared to do like him no one will do in the future
One's Bruckner said if my symphony is boring make it twice slowly
With Mahler it won't work but only in this symphony and only with the colossal Klemperer it works

you can almost hear it falling apart at some points, disintegrating, and yet it's one of the most ambitious reading of Mahler (by one of his closest student!)

Klemperer is the first to 'get' this. All too often, it turns into a 5 movement symphony with no slow movement!
