Strangely, after 20+ years in EMS, I’ve never left the stretcher at the hospital LOL, was surprised to see this as the first one out. I have however, left jump bags in patients homes, my notepads in various locations (some never found), the tablet/clipboard at the ER among other things. I find myself looking for my motivation more and more often 🤣.

The first one is an easy no brainer.

Whoever was in the back with the patient obviously does the charting. Whoever was driving cleans up the back and takes care of the cot. Easy.

My second week as a probationary EMT, we left the O2 bag at a patient's house, lol! Thank goodness the OM was able to get it back. 😅

My partner and I make a team effort in cleaning up the back of the ambulance and the cot together. So we never forget anything. We also don’t go CLEAR until we leave the hospital so we don’t get another call until we are back in the ambulance.

I was cleaning my ambulance in the bay, called out mid clean. Got on scene, opened the back doors... stretcher was still in the bay. You can imagine that call to dispatch. 😂🍻
