I flew first class as a exec platinum for a full two years with AA. I loved it. Sure they're not the best like Emerites, but they are far better than the local airlines like Delta, continental, alaska, etc. Also I like their track record for safety.

I flew in seat 1D of this plane from LAX to MIA, the service was amazing and the seat was really spacious. But the takeoff was the most intense of any time I’ve flown. Never before have I felt so much G-force!

Great video! Being a former AA employee I will agree on food service. Their thoughts on food is an afterthought. Starting in the AL business in AA’s flight kitchen years ago. I was in charge of their food for 1st & business class food for international flights. If you had the food as it should have been presented. It would have made a huge difference. I still use some of their recipes for entertaining at home.

I've flown Emirates first class and this one (AA) looked a lot better. Better food, snacks and drinks. The menu you showed had some pretty good items.

I flew AA 777 300ER first class from Hong Kong to Dallas. It was wonderful. There are only 8 people in first class. The seats are wonderful. They can be make into a bed. Very comfortable. So much room. The fact that there wasn't that much privacy was not an issue for me. People are very respectful in first class. They are far enough away from you where you are not bothered. The "ride" on the 777 is very comfortable. I also flew from Dallas to Beijing on the 777 300ER in business class. There is more privacy but the space is cramped. If I could not fly first class, I would fly coach plus before I paid for another business class seat. I don't think business is worth the difference in fare from a coach plus seat. I will also say that the security at the airport was really good.

I’ve only been on one international flight. Denver to Heathrow to India. I was in business class on British Airlines. I was very impressed and felt pampered in every way. Then I saw your first class videos and realized there is a whole other tier! The Japan video was the best! Having been a Priority frequent flyer for several US airlines over the past 15yrs, I agree with most of your comments / observations with this particular review. Food on American carriers just isn't up to par with other International Airlines. And yes, the service, though friendly, can seem too relaxed, almost casual, on the premium product (Business & First) - EG: your comment on how they place the cutlery & plates on your table. American, United & Delta will never be seen in the same ballpark with the likes of the Asian or Middle East airlines, when their own benchmarks are obviously lower than the others just mentioned.

You're not the only Travel Vlogger to mention this, almost all of your peers (even the slightly biased Jeb Brooks) have commented on the overall stand of International Business & First class on the major US airlines, being of a lower standard.

Appreciate your honesty with this review; wasn’t all negative, you were being truthful when comparing to the other International premium products.
