Jenny, I am not a professional quilter and don”t as[ire to be but I would like to get a better machine than my Walmart Singer. i cannot afford one with all the bells and whistles but feel that your extensive knowledge of quilting could guide me to a good machine without breaking the bank…..I am hoping on making lap robes, baby blankets, table runners and placemats, some to keep some to gift. Thank you so much. I have watched most of your videos and you have been most helpful in giving us way to save $ while enjoying the fun that is sewing. We were poor when I was first married and I made my kids clothing and sewed a ton. Had my mother’s old sewing threadle machine? Not sure of that spelling HA! Bought a brand new refurbished…one on time from the Singer guy that used to visit homes. Borrowed 100$ from my Mom and put the rest ‘on credit’….husband was somewhat put off but I made so many nice clothes for the kids from clothing that my aunt (who worked and had the $ to dress nice) would give me. We all ended up looking fine HA! Enough of my story….Thank you!

I love Jenny! I noticed she's sewing on a Jazz these days and it doesn't sound too good. How does it sew? It sounds clunky but it has that big throat space. Any opinions on the Jazz?

Hello! I’m wanting to upgrade my Brother sewing machine. I have the Babylock Spirit for my embroidery fun and I love it! I compare it to driving a Cadillac vs. a VW Beetle! I’d like to start quilting, but don’t want a super fancy machine. What can you recommend, please? Thx!

Why is it so hard to find prices for Babylock machines? I'm looking for a nice sew/embroidery machine, found a nice one on Babylock site, but so hard to find a price. Thinking about a Singer now.

What would one use a serger for in quilting? I thought that was primarily for finishing seams on garments?
