My machine has a thread cutter, but its location causes the loss of about six inches of bobbin and upper thread each time I cut. This is a terrific idea that will help me in my mission to be as "zero waste" as possible and I'm definitely going to try this hack, as well as the comb and razor blade. Thank you so very much! 👍🙏💖

Every machine I’ve had since the early 60’s has had a built in thread cutter!

Excellent. You could ALSO put a bobbin inside the case and use it for hand sewing...pull the thread, cut it off with that metal piece (as if it were floss) and thread your needle. No more loose thread in your mending box. !

Boa ideia, mas na minha máquina já tem cortador de linha perto do parafuso que fixa o calcador, e mesmo Nha máquina é antiga.
