Extra quick tip that's often overlooked, your best position for fishing is to have the toilet slightly below the surface of the water, and cast the lure directly onto your character, greatly cutting down the time it takes to cast and reel in. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but it can make a huge difference for long fishing sessions.

Awesome video, and did you know that fishing for Scaly Truffles is a decent money-maker into Hardmode, and even after getting or beating all the fishable equipment, the player may still need to restock potion ingredients and (via crates) ores/metals.

I think people dislike fishing because they start fishing in a late state of the game. Fishing is better when you do it ocasionaly, not forcing yourself to.
I fish while preparing arenas or equipment for bosses, when I'm bored, or just when I need to relax.
It feels good to fish ocasionaly, distracts me from the rest of the game

I have noticed where the angler is housed at he will give you less than other place where he is housed at for example when i get to 30 quest with golden rod i will get for example angler earrings, high test, sexant, fishing book but if i place him elsewhere i will only get bobber, sextant, that it. but also too i think this is caused by the map you get as well so certain maps you get alot from angler but other maps you hardly get anything before 30 fish quest like 2 to 4 items. for example i never got a golden worm or i will fish sky crates and get 30 sky crates and never get a lucky horseshoe again i think maps might be corrupted where the statistical math program will screw up.
