What she failed to mention in 2021 the West Riverfront area which was a predominantly black neighborhood within walking distance of downtown has been a huge part of the gentrification of Tampa where you have $600k to 700k houses being built next to abandoned houses, low income houses and section 8 apartments. I have lived in Tampa for 67 years and I know a lot about my city. Gentrification is huge in this area right now, companies are buying houses, renovating them and renting or selling them.

Both the Tampa Police Department & the Hillsborough County Sheriff have mapped crime activity history down to the block level. Check out their websites.

Back in 2004, Kwane Doster, a running back for the Vanderbilt University football team, was shot to death when someone fired at the parked car he was in. Doster, 21, of Tampa, died at Tampa General Hospital after being shot near the Ybor City nightlife district.
What is bad is some tourists unknowingly stray a little bit from Ybor City and get robbed or worse killed, like Doster.

Drew Park? That area is know as the red light district. There’s a good number of strip clubs and porn shops in there. Johns regularly cruise the streets picking up prostitutes that wander all over the place. It’s also a place where you could likely purchase any illicit substance you may want. If this is your lifestyle it would be an outstanding place to live. You could even land a 9 to 5 job in there. Also quit lying. You’re going to see homeless people all over Tampa. Tampa is not doing good with the homeless. It is increasing at an astronomical rate because rent is unaffordable and drug abuse is off the charts. The university area is not very different from most of the city. The only area that is up and coming that you talked about is the downtown area. The downtown area is an outstanding place to be. You need to be a millionaire to live there or any of the other nice neighborhoods. If you want to live the good life in Tampa you better have a lot of money and be prepared to extremely over pay for the place you live. This is all fact.

First and foremost, I appreciate your honesty. Can you mention Palm River/Clair Mel area. I currently see a lot of new builds in that area.

Brandon is safe, huh? In 1996 my wife and I drove through a "new" neighborhood and there were black kids on bikes, age around 12 or so, who stopped, picked up rocks, and threw them at our car. Our car had Florida plates since we lived there at that time and were house shopping. We are white, Those kids were most probably America's Most Wanted candidates of the future.
Would you want to walk down any of those city/town streets you mentioned after dark lady? I think not.
