This shape is Japanese style. Most Japanese believe this shape is exactly same in India😅
You can find some the reason of the shape. Somebody said this shape is good for bake in Tandoor, or other people said the first Indian curry shop in Japan made this form.
I can only say the Japanese style naan is interesting but tasty.
