Just FYI-ForJars was at Doug and Stacy's conference. They are in the process of setting up manufacturing in Florida

Thank you for the review. I have used the Forjars for canning Turkey and had good results with no failures. When I first started canning I would get buckled lids occasionally and I learned my error was from tightening the bands to tight. I am not saying that’s what happened with your canning I am saying this for caution to new canners. You never want to tighten the bands any tighter than a light turn, since I learned that I have never had a buckled lid.

It’s a shame suburb being an “ American “ company that they had poor customer service and lid failure. I try to buy only American and when an American company fails it hurts my heart . Hopefully they can get things right .

I tried the PUR jar lids last year and some of the lids buckled and all that I used rusted on the inside and it was foods that were pressure canned. I'm not sure that I'd try them again. Last year I also used the Ball lids with both pressure canning and water bath and I've had several of both methods to lose its seal within a couple weeks. I lost a lot of food with the Ball lids. This past winter I started using ForJars' lids for both canning methods and so far I'm so impressed with the quality. I've not had any lids to buckle nor lose any seals. I'm very satisfied with ForJars.
Thank you Wanda for doing the lid comparisons for us all to see how each of those companies' lids are doing. I really appreciate yaw and the hard work you two do each and every day.
God Bless you both!!

Thanks for your honest review Ms Wanda. I'm surprised the Superb jar company never got back to you after your first incident with them. Thanks again for the tips!

Hi Wanda i always used ball too but cant get them in Australia for near two years now. Ive tried to order "for jars" but soon as i put Australia it shuts down. I ordered 300 superb wide mouth from USA ived used about 30 to date in my All American pressure canner all sealed bar one it buckled then sealed but i felt that was possibly my error of not debubbling enough on that jar. We used it the next day as ya do. I still have 240 so i will keep ya posted on how they go " for jars" will expand and sell to us Aussies as we need lids too 👍🏻😀🇦🇺

Thanks Wanda. I only had problems with Ball a few years ago. I had over 25% failures that year. I didn't buy any the next year. I used my older stock and no failures. This is the first year I have bought Ball lids since that one year. I've only had 1 failure and that was probably my fault for not cleaning the rim enough. I compared the 2 years of lids to see what had changed. The year with the failures had a very thin seal ring. This year they are back to normal. Maybe Ball fixed the problem because of so many complaints and loss of sales.
I had 1 lid buckle this year. It was a Golden Harvest lid that was in the pressure canner. I use them in the water bath with no problems and wanted to see if I could pressure can them even though people have said to not do that. I did 4 jars and only 1 buckled but that is 25%. From now on I'll only use them for water bath, vacuum sealing, working jars on the shelf, or in the fridge.
I'm doing a load of cream corn for the first time in years! I got my Ball Book out and had remembered most of the steps. I had forgotten the extra 5 minutes after the pressure drops and the extra 10 minutes after you open the lid. Yes even us seasoned canners need to use our Ball Books. Much Love

From Linda...Never heard of Forjars before but willing to try. I've always used Ball lids. Thank you Wanda for your review and truth.

Thank you for an honest review. I have been canning for years. Everyone has an occasional failure. Many factors at play. That’s why even as a “seasoned” canner I don’t rely on memory. Always get the Ball Blue Book out and reread the instructions. I had gotten away from canning for a while. Watching your videos inspired me to start again. We have a well stocked pantry now from our garden. Thanks again

Wide mouth ForJars canning chicken did amazing for me, I’m a big fan of ForJars and will continue to use them. Great review on lids, good information 💖

Thanks for this video, Miss Wanda! My experience here has been wonderful with ForJar. In the past, when canning with Bernardin lids(just Canadian rebranding of Ball) I'd always have a fridge full of failures at the end of summer. This year, I'm just about finished my first set of 100 ForJars lids and no one fail. I even topped off one jar of jam with the foam I'd scraped off, just to put it in the canner and give the lids a chance to fail. It was messy, leaked(which I expected) but sealed well. I'll put that jar where I can watch it due to all the air in the foam but it was a happy result putting the lids through a test.

Thank you for this review Wanda. I am using mostly forjars at this point. I have received some bent lids on new cases of ball jars. Everyone should inspect the lids before using. I trusted because they were brand new, they should be good. I learned a lesson.

Is nice to hear a honest opinion of what lids you have tried. Thank you

I have had good success with the blue rimmed lids from Millersburg, Ohio. Never tried Forjars. Ball lids have not been sealing lately. I also switched Bach to pur jars and lids with no problems.

East Central Ohio here and I had the same issues. I picked some Superb lids up at my local Amish Bulk store and had buckling. I ran out of my other lids and watched a video from Melissa K. Norris realizing I was tightening the rings too tight. This last batch of green beans I pressure canned using Superb was perfect. I was shocked at how loose the rings needed to be. I have never worried about that with Ball, Kerry, Golden Harvest or For Jars. The Dutchman's Store was another place I purchased lids in bulk and had great results with and never had to worry about how much I tightened the rings. I wonder if I used Superb rings instead of the random Ball ones if it would make a difference too. The Ball rings don't fit over the Superb lids quite as smoothly as the others. There is just the slightest resistance. I want to support local however I don't want to lose the time, energy, money and food invested. Superb could upgrade their boxes with specific instructions and that would help tremendously.

When a lid buckles its because you've tightened the band on it too tight! My GO TO lid is now the FORJARS! The quality of the Ball Lids really tanked during the shortage! Lots of fails. The amount of the sealant is much thinner. I've never had a fail with the FORJARS lids and I've used at least a 100 of each size!
Nice HONEST review!

You’re the first person to say anything bad about the superb lids! I was honestly hoping to save money & buy some because Ball’s quality is not trustworthy anymore. But now idk if I want them either.

Always use Ball in my PC - very few problems. I sometimes use off brand from jams/jellies, wb, etc, But Ball most of the time, I hope to use Forjars soon

I ordered ForJar lids several months ago after hearing about them on your channel. They work GREAT and seem to be a little thicker and stronger to me than the Ball lids. Ball's quality has declined over the past few years, so it's nice to find a good replacement. I've already re-ordered 200 more lids from ForJars. Thanks, Wanda!
