I just watched all the videos about these new lids. It was so good to see you. I am cleaning up all the beds and have a lot planted for this fall and winter. Daytime temps have still been in the 70's. So weird. I want cooler days. My tomatoes are still going strong because night temps have not dropped below 60. Strange fall weather for us.

I'm glad the seals worked out for the best. I also learned how to can pumpkin. I was doing it all wrong. I would freeze mine in 2 cup portions after I cooked it down. Now I will do it like you, par boil. It did thaw on the wateryside. Your Mulberry jelly was pretty.

I bought Golden Harvest brand lids because we couldn't afford the Kerr brand (and there were no ball lids available).
I have noticed that they are very sloppily made, and have been wondering if these are the rejected lids from the Company - who also makes Ball, Kerr and the Canadian Brand lids.

My question is - these lids have an extra blop of thickness where they ended the ring of cushion, which makes them uneven instead of them being uniform and even all the way around.
Should I return these?
Will these lids fail because of the uneven seal cushion?
They were also the only brand left at the store, any store, so I am wondering if the other folks all know something that I don't.
This is my first time canning, but my common sense is saying there's something wrong.
The red plastic seal material is even up the sides on some of these lids.
Not one single lid has an even gasket on them. Every one has the extra blop of gasket material and an uneven amount of gasket ring material (the red colored stuff).
