Taylor Stitch's Ranch Boot Is the Most Underrated Chelsea

Taylor Stitch is known for their heritage-focused menswear and they're one of the few companies that make classic, masculine, durable apparel that's both modern and timeless. (Think burly cable knit sweaters or a good chore coat.) A more recent addition to their lineup are their boots, and I know — when an apparel company thinks they can just whip up a pair of boots to throw into their line, the results aren't always great. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I can confirm that they are definitely tight around the toes. So I just removed the removable cushion insole and it made a huge difference. They’re perfect now. And bonus, now I’m stepping directly on the leather insole.

I just purchased these boots. They look really good and well made, definitely worth it. Note the leather is a bit darker than and less bright than in the video. And the sizing is weird. They’re very tight in ankles and toes (though I have high instep and sort of wide feet), so I had to order (exchange for) half a size above my Brannock/sneakers size. I hope I don’t regret about this!

Really great to hear you mention that Made in China does not equal bad quality, especially using Grant Stone as a reference point which I know we've discussed previously. I'm a massive fanboy. Since you're on a Chelsea run, they've got new colours of their Chelsea next week - I don't own a pair myself (since RM's are affordable here in Aus and I've got far too many) but they're a very tidy looking boot.

The Taylor Stitch's are a good looking boot, solid casual last which matches with the colour very well. I love Chelsea's but tend to fix on the goring shape and size, and find it far too high on these (though it probably adds a little practicality.

TS must be crazy though, using Alden as a quality comparison for boots (so many flaws on my 405s). Great job and perhaps you should consider moving to the Midwest. Are those really leather insoles? I just got a pair of TS Suede Moto boots and they have a piece of junk, spongy foam insole. These seem more like Thursday Boot quality (nowhere near Alden quality). They do have great marketing though.
