Tornadoes are one natural phenomenon that's totally frightening to see even on video. I couldn't imagine standing a few miles away seeing it in person.

I remember being a kid and being with my family of like 8 people huddled in the cellar waiting out a tornado but the whole time my WW2 vet grandfather would be sitting on the front porch watching the whole thing even when it got within two blocks. Happened like twice, he would come down and tell us when it was alright to come out. Man was a certified bad ass.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma and I've seen multiple tornadoes in person and they are the most beautiful, awe-inspiring, terrifying things I have ever witnessed. That being said, I've seen how quickly their paths can change and have the sense to take cover -- once they've gotten within a certain distance from me -- versus stand there and film one as it comes my way.

A meteorologist stated publicly that the tornado that hit Bennington NE had f5 winds

So let's just stand outside & film it instead of taking safety measures

I'm in Lincoln. This was my first tornado situation. Took shelter in my crawl space under my house. Was quite scary but our town got so lucky compared to what has happened to other towns throughout the Midwest. Will be investing in a shelter this year.
Our hearts and prayers go out to those that were truly affected.❤

That’s a F 5 ! That’s huge, I hope nobody was hurt. I’ve seen a few of those roar by, and it’s one of the most scariest things you can live through.

Yet another reason to be grateful I live in a country where tornadoes never happen.

I live in GI. About 100 miles west of Lincoln. We had storms all night last night and most of today. The sirens never went off. Looks like East NE didn't get quite as lucky.

Thank you for having a screen date. Please add the year next time. Weather vids can be alarming if you have friends in the area and the algorithm often throws up old ones.

We need 24/7 radar that is easy to access by everyone. We get spotty coverage on a time line that is anything but good live coverage or left over coverage from days, weeks or years ago. We need to know NOW, THERE IS NO GOOD COVERAGE. World radar is my dream but we at least need current US coverage. The Dept of Commerce is in charge of weather.

That’s insane and terrifying that it traveled for at least 50 miles at 1/2 a mile wide. The amount of destruction it caused had to have been astronomical. 😢
