Unbox, dump on ground, roll around. Get up and close door to ammo room....

If the rounds aren’t in mags they are in ammo cans.

Original packaging inside cans.
You need LOT numbers in order to find recalls and bad ammo and you store them in cans so you can transport them easy and waterproof.

My grandpa keeps them in the original boxes and puts them in the ammo cans

I vacuum seal all mine in the original boxes with o2 or silica beads inside a safe. If it's a case of 1000. I put all the vac sealed boxes back in the case and tape it up with date of purchase.

Original box inside of ammo can metal I think the red bags would be good for storing ammo for the range.

Both bulk storage is fine. I'm 70 so I won't be alive long enough

Stored in ammo cans in factory boxes with desiccant packs for long term. And my range bag has a smaller pouch with loose rounds in it. I know the range rounds won’t be there too long so no need for me to worry about rust/oxidation from long storage in a range bag.

Ammo cans in the original packaging cardboard will help with any moisture that may be present. Reloads go into plastic bullet holders from original boxes and into the ammo can with silica packs. Never had a single issue

For smaller rounds like 9 mil and 22 I put them in small sacks/pouches or plastic baggies. But for bulk rounds that I shoot a lot of I have ammo cans that I just take to the range. If I buy a bulk pack of ammo and it arrives the same day I am going I’ll just take the box it comes in

The consensus is heat and moisture will degrade your ammo. Airtight containers with desiccants.

Ammo can with the little moisture packs inside and I label them tape and sharpie

Leave them in the boxes reason one so you don't get fingerprints all over them reason 2 the oil on your finger will corrode the casings over time reason 3 because if you have a bad batch of bullets you will know which box it is and it will not be mixed up in all the good ammunition!

Is it okay to store ammo in colder temps? Let say 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit. Or will that ruin your ammo and potentially make it dangerous to try to fire?

2 for long term 3 for short term like putting it in a backpack

That last option looks like iflt could benefit me but the ammo can would be to store empty magazines for when you need em
