Yes, very helpful! I store mine open just because I keep them on a towel bar from Ikea that is attached to the wall. 😃

Thank you. I just assumed you were supposed to leave them locked. Glad I saw this video.

Thank you Lolly for the tip! I never knew that about the spring. Glad I saw your video. I will definitely now be storing them open.

Interesting Lolly, especially the tip about wax paper. I was told to use foil which did nothing for my they still were sticking and not cutting. May there be Blessings, positive vibes that cause constant ripples of peace, health and happiness for all who need it in these unsure times! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️

Wow! I’m not only storing them closed but I’m storing them in a west facing windowsill! Thank you!

Wow! Who knew!! They are packaged like this when we buy them, so you would think that it would be ok to store them this way!!🤔 Thanks for sharing this tip!! 💕🌴😎

I am glad you told people about this! I broke not one but TWO of my precious Stampin up punches by keeping them closed!!!! By the 2nd one I decided that it was safer to leave them open and havent broken one since. I have 2- 6 drawer iris units that I keep my punches in *gasp* but I can not bear to lose one! I love them and use them a lot!!!

Thank you so much! I do store mine compressed. It's time to get the wheels going on how to store them now. Do you have a video on storage ideas?

Darn. I was afraid you were going to say that. I hope I have room to unspring them. Good video Lolly!

I need help with sharpening one punch I have that I use all the time. Cutting tin foil does not do the trick. I have oiled it as well, used wax, and wax paper, but it is getting harder and harder to punch. It is a retired Stampin up tab punch and I use it for a small Etsy business I have.

Thanks for the tip. I am headed to my punches to "unsparing" them right now! I've also heard in addtiont to cutting through waxed paper to lubricate the mehanisms, u can also punch through aluminum foil to help sharpen the punch. Is this true?

I've always thought that storing them closed wasn't good for the springs but if that's the case, why is that the exact reason they make them lockable? They literally advertise them as easier to store because you can lock them flat. (That's a rhetorical question, lol.)
