“It's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in war.”

That is exactly what you learn in Martial Arts. To have the ability to hurt someone but only use your abilities for a noble cause. He’s intelligent

I’m forty six years old and without any help have become extremely successful in life. That doesn’t make me a man! What makes me a man is my ability to absorb all the negativity in life and still smile while working my butt off. My ability to let my wife and daughter cry in my arms and shed a tear while I
simultaneously think their problems have zero meaning in the spectrum of their life. My ability to to have them know that they are always protected and safe physically, monetarily, and emotionally, always and forever. That’s the definition of a husband and a father and if you disagree, you’ve been raised wrong or indoctrinated in some “woke” ideology!
That’s what Jordan is saying and he’s a damn saint and a brilliant

I wish I came across JP when I was young, it would’ve been like having cheat codes to life. Instead I’ve learned everything that he says the hard way over 53 years.

Love John Stossel, he asks good questions and then LETS THEM ANSWER.

Yes. Good people are those whom are capable of being bad and destructive, but choose not to.

We should count our lucky stars that Mr. Peterson posts like this. His information is rock solid. What he says goes to the core of truth. Thank you.

You should be a monster, an absolute monster, and then you should learn to control it.

There is a very great difference between a man of violence and a violent man. Those that know, know.

Such a simple concept that gets overlooked and then misunderstood. (Yes, even by me.) But so impactful when you understand AND are able to apply it.

Martial arts is the best way to learn this in a practical way. But Jordan doesn’t just mean physical strength, he means maximizing your professional, work, and personal skills.

J.R.R. Tolkien said something on the same lines of having the capability to take a life but the fact that you don’t even though you can makes you a wholesome person. This fundamental value of being capable of being dangerous is not a new viewpoint. We need strong men like Dr. Jordan Peterson.

I remember watching an episode of "Cops" years ago where the police were alerted to a fight at night in a parking lot. When they arrived they found one man deceased, another critically injured, another man unharmed but sitting on the ground crying uncontrollably.

The man who was crying was the man who was attacked by the other two. He was also a black belt martial arts expert. When the other two guys jumped him he reacted as he was trained to react - the result was killing one and putting the other in ICU in critical condition. And he was horrified. He told the cops he was just defending himself and never intended to seriously hurt or kill anyone.

He was not charged as it was clearly a case of self defense, but for years he had controlled his martial arts expertise. Then, when he needed it to save his own life, he was devasted by the result.

This is what Peterson alludes to - the ability to be dangerous - the ability to control it.

I'm very dangerous when needed. I spent a lot of my life scared of what I can do to others, but because of him I no longer feel like a bad person because I am capable and willing to hurt people when needed.

As a martial art experienced...absolutely true.
