How to export Audacity files as MP3

In this video, you'll learn how to export your Audacity project in an MP3 format for your podcast.

MP3 strikes a good balance of audio quality and file size, so if you aren’t sure how to export your podcast episodes MP3 is a solid choice.

To export your Audacity project, choose File / Export / Export as MP3 from the drop-down menu

✅Best MP3 export settings for podcasts:

Bit Rate Mode - Preset
Quality - Standard
Variable Speed - Only applies when using a Variable Bit Rate Mode
Channel Mode - Stereo or Forced Export to Mono
MP3 Metadata Tags - Ignore these for podcast episodes

Once you’re ready, click “Export Audio” to finish.

I use Windows Audacity v3.4.1 Some of the GUI are different from yours. For example, when I go File|Export Audio my next screen does not open up MP3 but instead it is "Export Audio" screen.

After I press OK, it does not pop up the Meta Data screen. Instead I need to click on Meta Data button to open it.

My question is, if I export a file in the '' Joint Stereo '' quality and then insert that same song into the audacity and export it again to '' Stereo '' do you think?
Or do I have to download the song again?

when I click the export MP3 and the dialog box pops up...I dont have a 'where' (so I can save it to a file of my choice) So I cant save it to any of my files. I have the up to date version current as of yesterday. Any help with this please? As I cant save anywhere on my laptop. It automatically saves it under appdata/roaming/audacity. I can't change the location or dont know how?? cheers

I have recorded in Mono but my inserts and outro music is in Stereo. Can I have everything saved in Mono without losing the integrity of the file. What do you suggest it be saved as in the Channel Mode? Help appreciated.

For some reason when I go to export now it does not give me the pop-up window to rename or clear or change bitrate or anything I get no pop-up window anymore you know any reason why ?
