Biden Administration to raise tariffs on Chinese EVs

The Biden Administration plans to raise tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles from 25 to about 100 percent, sources familiar with the matter tell NBC News. It comes as former President Trump argues the shift to EVs will hurt American workers and the cars become a focus of the 2024 campaign. NBC News' Garrett Haake reports.

I went to China, drove more than a dozen EVs, and sat in dozens more. Had a lot of conversations, learned a lot of things.
One thing's for sure -- we're absolutely cooked, and it's probably our fault. China's EVs are better.

Cars are ridiculously expensive in the US right now. Nowadays a starter car, the most basic model without any bell and whistle, costs over $40k. Seriously American consumers needs some competition to bring down the car prices.

Everyone complaining US made cars are to expensive....but still support unions. One of the many reasons Chinese EV's are cheaper is labor costs.

We don’t have the grid system to charge these things… last summer, California wouldn’t let you charge your electric car for a few days because they didn’t have the electricity
