And this is just perfect. "Protecting the American worker" is just protecting big business and making it harder for those at the bottom. When that 100% tariff prevents Chinese EVs from entering the market, that even puts the stodgy auto industry ahead of the health of the planet.

Old, poorly cared for gasoline powered vehicles are the worst polluters. Putting a non-polluting car in the range of those owners should override bailing out the US auto industry yet AGAIN.

Raising tariffs is one dumb move. No matter how high the tariff is, as long as the final price to the consumer is still cheaper than those similar MAGA products, the consumer will choose the cheaper product. Raising taxes only benefits the greedy government, it's the consumer that ends up footing the bill.
