Do Chinese SOEs directly represent the Chinese state? In my last video, I briefly touched on the relations between the Communist Party and China’s massive, state-owned enterprises — amongst the biggest companies in the world. I was vague about what that means. Here we will dial into it a little deeper.

We see the ramifications of SOE from a geopolitical perspective. For example Huawei 5G equipment is banned from US, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Canada over security concerns.
