Mesa Mark IV (Rev A) Master of Puppets

Here's a little test I did with my new Mark IV Rev A. This amp is absolutely killer. No effects or anything. Straight raw guitars.

Some Mark tones tend to sound thin. This one is HUGE and really gives an idea of what it's really supposed to sound like. Love it !!!

The tone is amazing i think you would get even closer if you used g12t75s instead of the v30s. I have a mark v 25 and it kicks ass! What did you use for you're pictures? They look great

That EQ curve is comical 😂 - Almost like it makes you sound even more like Metallica the more you murder the mids. Probably true, but just a testament to how great this amp actually sounds, when you literally scoop all of the guitar frequencies/harmonics out of it and it still sounds good

Yeah, so I can get the same tone with the same settings minus the EQ. I have to pump that up a bit. Just for the three inners. Weird.

I tried your settings on my Mark IV Rev A from 1990 and it's muddy! There is something weird about your amp. You may want to get it checked out by an amp tech because something is way off. On lead channel, if I put the pre-gain mid pot above 3 it's muddy (I usually set it to zero) or if the bass pot is on anything above zero, it's super muddy with the GEQ engaged (I leave bass pot on zero) and use the GEQ to shape most of the tone, but with the GEQ settings you show in this video, the tone is more anemic than Justice For All guitar tone. The tone in your video sounds great but your settings don't match up.

Opinions on Rectifier vs Mark IV or V? I have A Tri Rec myself, but always pick the Mark when watching audio comparison videos.
