I just can't help it! I love that rectifier sound.

Hardest one yet... if forced to choose, recto for rhythm and mark iv for excited for a mark iv vs v shootout

Have had new amp head for a couple days now and I gotta say just wow. Definitely ok with it... you were correct Ryan, will enjoy...

God these videos kill me. I think they both sound great, very different but I’m not sure I could pick a favorite if I had to. Marks are just super articulate and immediate, but man, that rectifier sound is so thick. Tough call.

Mark IV wins 🏆 here. Just better sound overall. Rectifier sounds muffed.

We gonna get a mark iv vs mark v video?

I own both of these amps (same versions even) and find it strange how they can vary from one to the next. I like your Recto tone better than that of your Mark IV whereas I prefer my Mark IV over my Recto.

Damn, I wish I had picked up a mark 5 I had seen in Edmonton for $1500

Both are awesome amps. I've never owned (but always wanted a M4). In this demo every time you're on the M4 I think "damn, that's the amp I want" but then you switch back to the Recto and I think "yeah, I don't know if I'd be able to live without that tone." Yes, it's fizzy, yes the bass is out of control, but it just sounds so damn aggressive. The M4 probably cuts more in the mix in a traditional way but the sound is somehow more ... controlled than the Recto. Ideally I'd be able to have both. Sometimes I think of selling my Recto to help fund a M4. I do think I should probably run mine with the boost like you're doing here. Also considered getting something like a Fryette PS-2 so I can crank the Recto more and not die.

Mark IV all the way! I do love the rectifier but in this comparison the fizz of the recto really stands out. Marks are just so damn smooth and ballsy!

Super tasty riffs! Unscooped I like the DR; but scooped, I preferred the IV.

I've owned one Dual Rectifier, two Triple Rectifiers, and still own a Mark IV. When boosted with a clean boost and all the EQ controls and other controls tweaked properly, the Mark IV can do what a Recto does...only even better. I've never had a Mesa Mark series amp that I didn't absolutely bond with. They just KICK ASS. I've had Mark IIs, Mark IIS, and now a Mark IV. Plus an SOB which is basically a Mark 1 reissue. Eventually I'll have a Mark V. I liked the Rectos, but I never bonded with them much. They are great amps but don't have the tweakability of a Mark series amp that lets me dial in a tone I'm fully happy with.

It's weird I think the Mark IV sounds better but I think the Dual Rec feels better. The Mark sounds better but it feels too digital and lacks the organic raw feeling metal used to have, I think I'm just gonna go with the Dual Rec for feel.

Mark IV all hands down. it's chocolate! :D.
Out of curiosity: Have you used the same cabinet, or their own ones?

The rectifier just has such a unique and distinctive tone. They both sound incredible but the recto is my favourite.

Would be cool dual rectifier vs PRS sonzera

I’m a Mark IV guy but I really like the tone you have on that Dual Rectifier

At 1:36 and especially with the Mark IV, how do you describe that tone? To me it’s cold, dry and hollow. I love it and I’m chasing that exact feel for rhythm parts. Trying to see if I can dial that in on a 6505+ or XXX or even a DSL100H. (The three heads I own.

Or do I really need a Mesa head to get that particular flavor?
