Android Q Beta 2 First Look!

Android Q Beta 2 has been released and we've put together a list of some of the bigger changes. We've got new Bubbles notifications for messages, a new navigation gesture, a Notification Assistant, tweaks to the share menu, and quite a bit more!

Hopefully Google figures out the new gesture nav system before the official Q launch, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't ready until R.

Clearly, we've reached a point that we ran out of ideas and there's nothing more to offer. Tweaking the notification panel and adding minor features is what we're going to see in the future. Kinda like iOS.

Another thing I noticed that is really cool:
When you lift the phone from a table it automatically goes from ambient display to screen on at lock screen. Really useful!

I'm watching this on my Essential PH1 running Android Q beta 4 and this software is amazing. Everything works flawlessly for a beta on my phone and it's my daily driver. I'm using Nova Launcher with Google's fully gestures in Android Q beta 4 and it all works well together. I can't wait for the final release of Q in August and I hope Google doesn't screw things up.

Notification assistant is what I guess from miui, you can look up the notification assistant in Xiaomi phones with miui and maybe it's the same?

Why nobody is talking about the Pixel 3’s Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) feature enabled in Android Q Beta 2? It’s pretty good and I’m already using it.

What’s the difference if the gesture and button navigation take the same space at the bottom without giving extra real estate?
