75 Things You Missed™ in Scream 3 (2000)

Does Scream 3 contain a SECRET second killer? Let's go back and look at everything you might have missed to find out!

SOMEONE HAS TAKEN THEIR LOVE OF TRILOGIES ONE STEP TOO FAR. Scream 3 was to be the closing film of the set, and like it's predecessors, it would rely heavily on satire, this time using trilogy final chapters as it's base.

Like Scream and Scream 2, there are plenty of references and easter eggs to talk about, but Scream 3 most notably acts as a social commentary about the state of Hollywood and the film industry by touching on topics like the effect of Columbine on the horror genre and, in a storyline that would become extremely relevant 18 years later, the hidden undercurrents of sexual crimes and potential callout of producer Harvey Weinstein.

There's also a major fan theory I want to talk about that could change the way you look at the movie!

I honestly love that Sidney kept the greek letters that was given by Derek, it shows she still loves him and never forgot it and it makes his death way more tragic.

I have the Scream collection booklet that lists each character that was killed in each film and strangely enough Angelina is not listed amongst Scream 3’s victims. It always made me think she’s alive out there somewhere planning her big return. Her original reveal was supposed to be that she went to school with Sid during Scream 1’s events and became obsessed with her. I’d love for her to come back

I've seen scream 3 multiple times and I've never picked up on the fact that Angelina was probably also a killer. My perspective on this movie has just changed in a big way.

Angelina is definitely the 2nd killer, she just happened to go out the door that led to the Stab studio after she "accidentally" left something behind knowing Sidney would follow her. Plus how she knew to back away from the house before the explosion.
She also slinks away from Tyson at the party. Her supposed death looked a bit suspicious and her death face kinda looked how Roman did. I think she was still acting as she was trying to "run away". Scream 6/II needs to bring her back.

4:06 Props to Sidney for being able to act a play on the same stage on which she was nearly murdered by her ex boyfriend's mother.

You missed another part of Angelina being the third killer, after she was stabbed and dragged away we see Tyson getting thrown over the balcony then as that happens we see Jennifer trying to go to the basement and getting chased back up then being stabbed in the closet. No way Roman could get from the balcony to that basement. Also she had to help him stage his death 💀 that was how she found the hidden passage and sleeping with Milton helped her know his house 🏡. She wanted to be like Sidney and after she killed Jennifer she took off to wait for Roman but he never returned. Good vlog, nice set up .

Personally, I think Angelina is still alive. We don't get a good look at her stab wound or body before it's dragged off scene. I think it was more of a stab to hinder her/knock her out so Roman could tie her up to take the fall for everything. I think it'd be interesting to see her return in future movies, even though I thought her character was very bland at best... It would make for a could reference to the third movie as well as tie up lose ends!

Having a second killer, especially an actor as the killer, and a one female at that. would've made so much perfect sense, because they could've just had her do the voice impersonations or something instead the magical voice changer they had. plus it would've been less jarring than having just roman as the killer because angeline actually spent time with the rest of the characters.

One thing I like about Scream 3 is the super-meta moment, when Tom Prinze is ripping up the script and is citing the pages - he's actually revealing to the audience the upcoming scenes and the ending :

"Maureen's Murder Flashback" - Sid comes across the 'set' for the flashback scene of her mother's death
"The Prescott House Flashback" - Aside from Sid going through her memories in the set of her childhood room, we have her basically reenacting shot-for-shot her chase scene with Ghostface through her 'house' once again.
"Dewey Saves The Day" - Not only is Dewey the one to arrive to Sidney's aid on the soundstage, it's also Dewey in the end who is the one to finally put down Ghostface.

You have no idea how much I appreciate your research and dedication to the horror genre. I love watching these because I learn much and my inner horror snob gets the fix she needs lol.

I’ve always thought Angelina was a second killer. This makes sense to me. Love the video

Some more evidence for Angelina not being dead is the little guide book that comes with the “Ultimate Scream Collection” dvd set. It lists each victim (including killers) for each movie and Angelina is not listed among the victims in scream 3 🤔 I call that suspish.

I firmly believe not only that Angelina is still canonically the second killer in S3 but also that she did not get killed. She is the only one I can think of who was relocated for no reason. Casey was a message. Himbry was a distraction. Kenny was also kind of a distraction. It also helped get Gale out of the way for a bit. No evidence whether Phil was moved or not. That kill is problematic anyway. Anyways, I'm also reminded that one of the releases of the movies has a section In Memorium of those who were killed in the movies, and guess who's missing from S3's Memorium.

Also the chase scene in the movie set with the sheet of Sid's dead Mom is definitely a shout out to Michael Myers in the original Halloween wearing the ghost sheet with the glasses of the guy he killed.

I have a theory that theyre going to bring Angelina and Stu back for the 7th film.

It could just be the directors shutting down the 'Angelina was a second ghostface' theory/scrapped ending & Stu's intended return in 3 but they go out of their way in 6 to have Kirby confirm Stu's death and Roman as a solo killer. And considering she was also a character whose original ending was rewritten to allow her to return and it was foreshadowed in a previous installment i think it holds at least some water lmao

You didn’t notice Roman set a party when he was the killer and Stu set a party when HE was a killer

18:55 I vaguely remember Wes Craven stating in the commentary that wind was pushing the door in that scene. You can even hear the wind, I think.

Fun fact: Randy was also suppose to be brought back in the original script his parents keeping him in hiding which would of honestly made this franchise MUCH better imo. There is NO other character that brought in the charisma Randy brought in. Surprised you didn't mention the two Randy resurrection Randy ideas to this video. The 'movie' they were going to see at the end was going to be another Randy tape, this one revealing to them that Randy was indeed alive but in hiding because of what happened.

That would have been awesome is Stu came back in this one honestly. Even as a 9 year old I always thought he could have survived that.

How he would have just got away after multiple people knew he was the killer would have been a different story.
