Blocking tactics to mess up your opponents

In this video I show you how to use your block shot to frustrate and beat your opponents.

You normally use a 'block' to return your opponent's topspin attacks. But don't think of the block as merely a passive, defensive shot. If used well, you can turn defence into attack, force your opponents to make mistakes or even hit outright winners.

In the video I focus on four different blocking tactics you can try. These are the switch block, the fast block, the slow block and the chop block.

Try them all out. You will find some easier than others. But the most important thing is try and mess up your opponents! Good luck!

I finally find how called my favorite type of blocks - this is a "chop block"! My friends very dont like it because they cannot effectively counter it and lose ball in more then 70% times!

Koki niwa has absolutely mastered the chop block. It just insane in the way he turns the game. A brilliant tutorial though.

Good blocking tactics, appreciate it! I just want to say, that I’m not using blocks so often, but when I use them I usually use the first block you mentioned, it’s probably the best. My tactic then is just to make some blocks and then change to attack when the ball comes right and the opponent doesn’t expect it. mostly a backhand loop or forehand topspin attack. :)

I realized just now that I do the slow block to counter the speed 'rather unknowingly'. Thanks for the sum up. I will apply in my upcoming tournament.
