Honestly though Sylveon's almost uncanny look compared to the other Eeveeloutions is actually really good design though

And it's because of it's type. Fairy types aren't just the pixies and stuff people expect, they're outright FAE. Fae, who are known to be recognizable in human disguise for looking juuuust slightly off.

Sylveon is actually a really good representation of the fairy type Pokémon. Plus it’s one of my favorites.

As a Sylveon fan, the evolution, like all of them, is an adaptation to it's surroundings. It, like most animals, doesn't wanna be dressed up, so it evolved to already be dressed up, along with being cute to help with it's hunting of prey

So when I was a wee lad, my mom HATED Pokémon. She was the “Pokémon is the devil’s work” one. I didn’t get to touch any of the games until well into Gen 2 and even then, that was only when I was at my cousin’s house.

Just the other day, my mom saw my Sylveon plush while she was visiting. She absolutely loved it and thought it was the cutest thing.

I will now die defending Sylveon.

I think what stands out to me is its seemingly flat face that's facing forward in comparison to the angled face and poses of the other Eeveelutions. Just from the art, alone. But also, the others have fur or fur-like things, they're special animals. Sylveon is just wearing a costume.
