I can't even begin to explain how ecstatic I was when Umbreon FINALLY got back Toxic in Gen 9. It's still stupid that Umbreon doesn't learn Toxic by leveling up.

Flareon losing superpower and sylveon losing mystical fire weren't intentional nerfs but more like indirect nerfs. Both superpower and mystical fire lost their TM/TR status after sword and shield and are now learned only through level up or breeding. Superpower also used to be a tutor move before but I am pretty sure those mostly don't exist anymore.

The loss of signal beam truly hurt most specially offensive electric types who already lacked type coverage.

Well they gave espeon power gem in gen 9 so thats something (it has all moves to cover its weaknesses)

Power gem for bug types
Dazzling gleam for dark types
Shadow ball for ghost types
Maybe add psychic then either give it a choice specs or scarf to sweep

I hate that Glaceon is supposed to be a tank, as an Ice type, the least defensive typing in the game. I wish it was a glass cannon instead. Being the most offensive type, it would make so much more sense.

This is sorta of the problem with the entire Eeveelution gimmick. GameFreak obviously wants them all to feel as unique as possible and so restricts their movesets to keep overlaps and redundancies to a minimum.

It's almost surprising Vaporeon is still allowed to learn ice type coverage anymore.

The bad thing is that it's a physical mon and most are lowpower moves or the high ones need sp atk

A lot of it comes down to an individual game’s TM selection, though I will say that cutting Signal Beam is criminal. It’s like one of only three moves where I can’t find the logic behind axing it.

One neat workaround to benefit em all would be some egg moves for Eevee to actually get good mileage from each of its evos & in turn benefiting them in some way with both physical & special options plus support ones to boot

I remember just walling teams with my Tera Psychic Umbreon with toxic and wish. Best idea I ever had.

I'm still mad they got rid of toxic on umbreon when a dex entry clearly says it emites a poisonous sweat

I am the best user of Umbreon, and have been using it forever at this point.

Espeon, in particular, actually has a good bit of options. Shadow Ball, D Gleam, Mystical Fire, Power Gem, and unless I'm mistaken, Focus Blast and T bolt, although you have full permission to correct me on those last two, just don't get too technical about it.

They all get Shadow Ball and Alluring Voice but that’s no where near enough. I still find it funny they are all based on the special types but 2 are physical attackers

Leafeon has X-Scissor and Aerial Ace, that is cool.

I mean like Jolteon is in the Smogon because it gets Thunderbolt which is one of the most reliable electric attacks

Vaporeon has the best coverage with ice beam and scald, but taking away heal bell was a huge hit

Umbreon lost payback in gen 9, you have to transfer to get it :(

And yet here we are with like 40 different variations of freaking Pikachu. Eevee honestly should have been the mascot for Pokemon. It embodies the entire concept of evolution and personal preference for each trainer. You'd think Gamefreak would lean more into this along with the eeveelutions
