American Hat co. Vs rodeo king felt Hat’s

I am making a comparison between rodeo king And American hat company Felt hats and letting you know why I would choose American hat co.
I will talk about values construction customer service and the company’s pride in there product that shows through the quality along with fit and what the companies stand for and show why I relate closer to American hat company.
The rodeo king is a 10x ash belly and the American is a 40x steel so the felt will not be compared between these two hats but I will be discussing how they compare in felt to there respectable x rating that I have seen before.

I have both the American and the Rodeo King. I love the American, but I personally love the Rodeo King a little bit more because my dad bought it for me for my 22nd birthday!

Just bought my American Hat Co. 100x and I have to say this is the best fitting, highest quality hat I’ve ever owned. I have a rodeo king 10x that’s a great hat but even after comparing a 200x rodeo king to my 100x American Hat it’s not even a question, the American is the way to go for sure. I wanted a hat that will last a lifetime of abuse and I really think this is it! The quality, the craftsmanship, the care and detail that went into it is on another level entirely. I have had stetson, resistol, rodeo king…
Now i have 3 AHC in my arsenal… HANDS DOWN. AHC is gorgeous no matter if it’s 7x or 10x or up. They all have same high quality and the attention to detail is up there.
I have 100x and two 40x in my arsenal

I paid around $600 for my 40x pecan american hat company hat and its worth every penny to me. It will last my lifetime and hopefully it'll fit one of my sons one day when I'm gone. It's my go to felt hat this time of year.

Having worn a 3X for years I'm finally ready to step up to the "Bigs" a wee bit. It'll be more painful on the wallet but I'm sold on the 10X AHC.

I like the looks of all 3 hats & that being said, looks are only skin deep. I can see the quality and construction attention to detail, and pride in the American Hat Co. over the Rodeo King & many other brands.
If I'm not mistaken, which I doubt I am, I see 2 AHC hats, the steel 40x and your fine looking Straw you're wearing, and they look handsome indeed. Thanks 4 the review Lionel, I enjoyed it. 👍

Great video! Its definitely worth spending a little more upfront, it'll be worth it in the long run. Stetson/Resistol also does the same renovation program as American hat but I do gotta say I like the sweatbands on the American hats better than on most Stetsons. Cant wait to eventually get an American Hat of my own. Thanks for your review!

I looked at a Rodeo King 100x today and it felt really smooth. Upon closer examination of the hat, I noticed the stitching that connects the crown to the brim was showing. The hat band was not covering it up correctly. The hatter said he could fix that for me but at $830 before tax I decided to pass. I’m going to look at American Hat Company to take a look at their 100x. I appreciate your posting.

Great video brother. Would love to see how the American Hat measures up to say the other players within there respective X range. You should get your hands on a Resistol, Stetson, Milano (Larry Mahan), Bailey, Seratelli, etc. I have yet to see any videos on all the players and have them ranked. Would be intresting to see. Also, Greeley Hat Works is awesome from what I hear. Good custom quality and made President Bush a few hats and did all the hats for Yellowstone.

I picked up a rodeo king 10x in ash color as a work hat since I’ve had my resistol for over a decade. I wear felt even in the Oklahoma summer and wrangling horses everyday it’s worth more to me to have one. That being said, I do wish I had gotten the American, the rodeo king has taken forever to break in even with the heavy sweating and dirt and sand. I could see one being a nice dancing hat, but all my friends who wear the Americans, love them. It’s a shame resistol isn’t as nice as they used to be for good work hats

When you get to a $350 price tag it’s time to put custom hats in the mix. I have a 60%beaver hat custom made for me. Fits perfectly, color, crown, and brim what I wanted for about the same price as the hats you are discussing.

But it is interesting what the different hat makers hats feel like even though they are all6X. Yesterday I was at Boot Barn checking out a hat and it felt like wool! It was a 6X, the finish on it wasn’t that great either.
