Very informative informative. You did a fine job of pointing out subtle differences in the hats that some people may never have thought to look for. It is definitely apparent that the lacquer used for each hat is quite different. Well done video, Lionel!!

Great review, I wish you had mentioned that the American hat will perform better in the rain and if it were to fall off and land in the mud it would be easier to wipe it off and go. I have a Resistol Straw as well and it's a great hat but the American Hat Company just takes it to the next level.

American is a quality company but they have never quite fit me just right even in the same size of 7 3/8 long oval.Resistol fits me like a glove every time.I do have two Resistol 20X Tuff Enuff hats and they are very tough and long lasting.

I grew up with Stetson and Resistols, no one in the upstate of SC carried anything else at the time. But now I may have to road trip to find an American! I'm still mostly a felt hat wearer, year-round, but I would like to have a good straw hat for our hot southern summers! Thanks for the great review!

New to straw hats & Felt hats well new to western wear. I bought an Ariat straw hat just cause I like the way it looked compared to the other straw hats they had in this particular store. After that I went to another store the following week and bought a Stetson Skyline 6 x black felt hat. I really like the Stetson! Doing my homework thanks for these videos I’m learning a whole bunch. Thinking for next straw just might be the American hat.

I will like to say I have never seen a channel like yours or cowboy cartel group and I’m glad their are now I absolutely enjoy watching y’all’s videos and I came from cowboy cartel group videos I saw your videos in my recommendations. I subscribed and put my notifications on for your channel and for cowboy cartel and thank you for making this video and for the felt video I really enjoyed them and learned a lot and decided on what brand I want American Hat Company now I just have to save up for a Black 40X Or 100X in 5inch brim.

I have a resistol in blue I have had it since 1982. It's self conforming hand creased. My hat is 42 years old and still fits very well. I am in the process of buying a gone country that's made by stetson.

Wore Resistol straw hats many years then got an Ariat western straw hat and it's more comfortable thanks to the inside band.

My main hat is a Stetson Lobo 10x straw. I love that thing. I do own two Resistol straws as well but the fit was never as good as my Lobo right out the box.

I have both Resistol and American straw. Love my American. Just a better fit and comfort. Have 2 nice Resistol felts. Need to check out an American to see.

The American Hat are hands down the best of the best 🔥 don't get me wrong I love my Resistol hats but American Hat is my personal favorite and it seems to wear longer.

Stetson hats are more oval and fit me like a glove right off the bat. I pretty loyal, but after this review, im gonna try those brands on.
