I've had this Genesis for a few months now. Overall, love it. Reasonable size, comfortable, very fast, practical hatch, nice styling. Range isn't great, and it understeers, which most people probably won't notice. Small back seat, and not enough color options. Great for commuting and short trips. Charging hasn't been an issue with a charger at home and at work. I wouldn't risk a long trip in this car though.

I’ve had my GV70 for only a week, but man the difference in luxury vs Tesla (had a Model S) is night and day! The Genesis is like driving a dream, so absolutely smooth, and quiet. I absolutely love driving it!! The seats super comfortable, with the driver seat having massage! ❤❤❤ My one wish is more range, but it’s an absolute dream to drive! I’ve had so many cars, but this one is like hitting the jackpot!

Love the side by side comparison. I actually sent you an email a few months back when I got my ICE GV70 and wanted you to do a review of it and compare with the Tesla Model Y before the electric version came out and I'm glad you ended up doing one! I love my GV70 way more than I ever enjoyed my Tesla with how nice the interior is and just how luxurious it feels. Genesis is really stepping up their game and setting bars high. Great review once again!

I think you Tesla guys over exaggerate the charging advantage for road trips. I have crossed North America round trip, twice in my Ioniq 5. I say North America, because one way was on the Trans-Canada highway. I have never not been able to charge at a charging stop. I might have to change stalls, but I have never been stuck. I remember pulling in at one stop where the Electrify America was right next to the super chargers which were full. I pulled in at 10% and left with 80% before a single Tesla left the super chargers. In addition, I have put 34, 000 miles on my Ioniq 5 in 1 year and 3 months. There have been zero problems with the car. The GV70 uses the same battery and battery management as my car.

If the genesis had a larger battery like 85 kWh it would be an amazing buy. Looks so beautiful. But unfortunately 230 mile is just not enough. For me at least. If it had 300 mile range I would buy it immediately

Great and balanced review. Having owned both a Tesla Model Y and admittedly an ICE GV70, I agree with your conclusions. For me, if I had the money, it would be the Genesis every time. Once you’ve sat in that car and driven it a while, it’s really difficult to get into other, less comfortable and less luxurious cars, and yet it’s fun to drive and fast.

Hi Gjeebs, I love your videos and get excited on any new video release you make. I'd like to say something on FSD. I will quite disagree with you, on calling it a gimmick. Why, because, i have followed closely, on multiple FSD drive channels on YOUTUBE and by golly, what it does is spectacular. What I might suggest is, why not subscribe to the monthly package and test the newest versions of FSD, as I fear your assessment of the software, may be somewhat based on old, past FSD versions

In Australia, the electrified GV70 costs over US$100, 000 and nearly double the price of the ICE version GV70. The price difference between electric and ICE in the US is nowhere near this bad.

Full self driving is definitely not a gimmick. After you learn to use it you cannot live without it in my opinion.

There are a only about 17K Tesla superchargers and destination chargers in the US. The larger number you quoted is for the world over.

The wife of a YouTuber bought a GV60 with that same interior maybe eight months ago. It’s my favorite! Also want to mention that the GV70 does have a heat pump for those of us in cold climate.

Problem for me is, with the price cuts and changes to ev tax credits, you're looking at about a 25k difference in some cases. I also wish it didn't come in only shiny grey, grey, dark grey, matte grey.

I like both of these but I don't need to feed my ego by paying more for luxury when the much cheaper Model Y while not really a luxury vehicle does so much more and is part of an incredible charging ecosystem.

we have both the gv70 electric and a tesla model y performance. You nailed this review, you really only buy the tesla for the charging network. we got our gv70 2024 prestige for 22k off msrp, which made it a no brainer. Tesla only for the charging network in my view, the GV70 crushes it in every other regard. Great review here. The quality, quiet, ride quality of the gv70 is over the top better.
