One Pot Wonder with chicken and chorizo | My go-to winter dish that's super easy!

I love this dish. One pot, delicious chicken and chorizo, and whatever vegetables you have lying around in your fridge. This video has no set recipe, it's more about the technique. You can swap out the chicken for fish or just veggies. Once you have this technique down, the options are endless. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

“Just because you are a good chef it doesn’t mean you are a good home cook” Amazing quote from a humble great chef! Keep it Andy, you rock!

I’m 62 years old and love to cook, I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your recipes and time. I also love the fact that “Basic Mitch” seams like he’s starting to broaden his meal selection.

Living in a small nyc apartment w/ no dishwasher and about 2 feet of counter space I deeply appreciate the one pot meals. Thank you for sharing 🙏

I absolutely love this guy. I love that he's using ingredients that are found in the average household that look exactly like what I have in my fridge. Wilted Brocollini, Canned goods and the few things we often buy to make a dish at home.

Probably one of your best videos yet Andy. Good to see you emphasise the importance of reducing waste of food, but also teaching cooking tips at the same time. Keep it up! Chur

Really appreciate how you show people to make a nice meal with what they already have, you are encouraging people to be okay with not having a recipe but to trust their instinct. That's the way I learned to cook.

You’ve got my vote Andy. I’m such a firm believer in reducing food waste and mixing it up with leftover ingredients. Their’s nothing you can’t achieve with your random ingredients if you’ve got a few pantry essentials. And they don’t cost an arm and a leg either. This is a brilliant video. Thank you

I do this all the time. Whatever protein source I have (even mixed grain and legume, vegetarian stuff) all the about to turn veggies in the fridge, tomato sauce sometimes but sometimes a 'white sauce', particularly with fish, pork or other white meat, and appropriate herbs and spices. I love watching your joyful show! As usual, you provide both inspiration and validation. Super!

Hi Andy, I've watched lots of your short videos lately, they keep popping up in my feed and I absolutely love them. Thank you for all the love for cooking from scratch and eating well, you put in them.

So here I was looking for one pot meals and there was a familiar face coming up. After 5 minutes into the video I just had to leave a comment. It's so nice watching a cook show where the host tells the audience to check the larder and prepare what they have got. Sounds more like a realistic situation and makes a lot of sense to not let things go to waste. I'm 60 y/o and this is how I was raised, how grandma and mom taught me how to cook - see what you have and make a good meal of it. Well, actually, they didn't really teach me, I learnt by watching, helping and doing things the way they did. Cooking is something that requires all of our senses plus an additional one - knowing how to make ends meet. At present, with the groceries getting more and more expensive, it does make a difference when we make good use of what we've bought.

So, thumbs up for your videos. Please, keep them coming, they are very much appreciated. All the best from the Bavarian alpine region🙋🏻‍♀ Lisa

I really appreciate being a person who tries to use what you have! I hate wasting food- soups are always so great for that!

Hey Andy....Just made this tonight and it's great. I used chicken and turkey kielbasa and everyone liked it. My wife is going thru kemo treatments and her tastes buds are all out of whack. So just wanted to try something different to make. Just wanted to let you know that I've enjoyed your shorts and I'll keep watching.

I love the kitchen layout. Also really love the emphasis on "use what you have" instead of counting celery stalks and carrots for a recipe.

You're an excellent teacher! I'm going to use up everything in my fridge for this type of meal tomorrow night. I'll sub in chick peas, pepperoni and chicken thighs. Looking forward to it yum!

Love these types of videos. I hope you will do more quick weeknight meals! Perhaps pressure cooker (instant pot) meals? I’ve also commented this before, but I would love to see a pantry and fridge tour, along with your recommendations on what ingredients and spices to always keep on hand.

‘Let’s get stuck in’ said Andy always. Where’s the Let’s get stuck in mercy?!? Congrats on your cookbook. It’s been a total joy following your journey. I’ve seen this one a few times. Never gets old! Great reminder to reduce food waste and to trust your gut!

I love one pot meals. They are so versatile and can use up stuff that is close to their end.

Great reminder of what I did when the kids were little and money was tight. Called it "Kitchen sink soup". Everything but the kitchen sink. I love your voice and the way you talk. Very easy, no stumbling over your own tongue. This is the 5th one of your vids I've watched in a row. Thanks Andy!

Great way to clear out the fridge in preparation for restocking. And a tasty meal in the boot!

I have been cooking this kind of winter comfort food for years, as Chef Andy says it’s simple, healthy and tasty plus indeed uses up old veg in the fridge. You could also add carrots, celery, eggplant or whatever you have.

In winter I would also serve this possibly with polenta, pasta or even couscous (if I had used cumin, corriander and paprika, or turmeric. If you wanted it more italian/spanish/french than probably you would use herbs like oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary. It’s cooking so versatile.
