The Premium Sport-Touring RPHA 71 helmet is designed for any ride from city commutes to cross-country cruises. It comes with plenty of new features such as a curved 3D visor & ratchet to reduce air turbulence and a new visor lock. The Premium Integrated Matrix Evo shell is stronger, lightweight, and offers a superior fit, using a 4-shell breakdown from sizes XS up to 2XL. This helmet is also ready to accept the new SMART HJC Bluetooth systems (50B and 21B).

Very noisy. Air is coming into the helmet from the sun visor cursor cut and massively from the panels for hjc smart. had to "close" these points with tape in order to reduce partially wind noise. sun visor cursor cut is not sealable, if you want to use it, so left ear is always in a tornado

I’ve used this helmet for a couple of months/2000 km.

If I had to purchase it again I would not.

-It’s loud. Lots of wind noise and occasional whistling. An HJC Rep indicated I should have bought a helmet without the sunvisor if I wanted a quieter helmet. Kinda contradicted the claim in the video regarding noise.
-initially it was comfortable. After I added the HJC 21B comm set it became very uncomfortable. The speakers (despite having recessed pockets cast into the helmet) create significant pressure on the earlobes causing major discomfort. When I took the speakers out the discomfort went away. Looks like I’m ordering thinner cheek pads.
-regarding the removable washable padding, it’s easy to remove. Replacement is a whole different story. Interesting that there’s no video that details replacing the padding as it’s a P.I.T.A. The plastic snaps they use are garbage. I’m constantly having to push/snap them back into place now.
-the HJC 21B comm set fits well and adds minimal weight but the sound quality is poor . Not very loud and lacking bass.

The negatives far outweigh the positives of this helmet. I’m a little over $900 CAD into this helmet now and feel completely ripped off. I won’t buy HJC again.

This helmet is very loud actually compare to my Shoei GT Air. From 35 mph I can't hear my motorbike.

One of the worst helmet ever done by HJC. I had RPHA70 and it was perfect, so that i bought the 71.... What a shame for HJC when from only 50km/h the wind sound is so high that we cannot even hear the engine sound !!

What is the general shell/EPS shape in this helmet? Intermediate-oval shape? More round? More long-oval? I ask because the majority of the market can choose whatever helmet they way, mostly. My head shape is long-oval and I have a hard time finding helmets I can afford (here's talking to you, Arai) that don't give me a forehead headache. I will go as far as taking a dremel to the EPS to relieve the pressure point(s) and make an otherwise excellent helmet fit. Yeah I know, reduces crush performance. But unless manufacturers are willing to produce a long-oval shape, who cares.
And there's no standard on the market of helmets to determine what general shell shape they've gone with. This is THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING about helmet manufacturers across the board, the lack of relative standards of fit, shape data, and the never ending fiddling around with visor locks and pivot mechanisms, chin strap mechanisms, strap attachment locations (smashing ears potentially), and ventilation mechanisms. You'd think they do it just to make money and not improve. How many times did a manufacturer arrive at an excellent design and then promptly discard that in the next model introduction for inferior stuff?

🤔It seems that it is no longer possible to attach the CARDO Packtalk SLIM due to the new helmet edge.
Can someone say something more specific about this❓

I need to replace my GTAir 2 because the chin strap has rubbed my adams apple raw. What is the HJC equivalent

Unfortunately HJC seem to have right royally smacked themselves in the balls with this helmet. As a Cardo user, the new Sena integration has definitely stopped me, and potentially 100s of others from buying the RHPA 71, as now, there is no practical location to mount my packtalk. I don't think i'm alone in this opinion, which is a shame, as i'm on my 4th HJC helmet, and potentially last until the sena integration is lost. Can @hjchelmetseurope explain the reason behind this?

I would have already purchased this if it didn't mean I would be stuck with Sena. What a weird thing to force on people.

As others have said, the most disappointing helmet buy ever for me. Had a RPHA70, so bought this as a logical replacement. On the first ride I couldn't believe the wind noise even at fairly low speeds. Can't hear my intercom at above 30km and music is a waste of time. Also the shape is obviously different as this one is painful to get off and rips my temples every time. It's such a shame that they've ruined a great helmet line.

For those being put off by the comments then this might be of more interest as a test of the helmet

Natasha, hope you are doing fine, can you tell me where can I find a visor for my new helmet RPHA-71?

I´m looking for the HJ-40 iridium red.
