As someone who has read the light novel, I wish this was received better. It's got good source material, but a subpar adaptation from what I've seen. Much like Arifureta(even though I still like Arifureta). It makes me worried about whether they'll give the proper time, attention, and budget to my favorite light novel series: The Death Mage Who Doesn't Want A Fourth Time if and/or when it ever gets an anime adaptation. The MC is even my profile pic.

I feel like the MC's trauma was put there just to get sympathy and shock, it felt forced.

I think it would've benefitted if it was introduced more smoothly and maybe a bit later on in the show. Same thing goes for the "MC acts nice but is secretly dark and vendictive" thing.

I dunno, I'll keep watching it but it's not really reaching my expectations

The animation is very rough though. I liked the design of the MC slightly more tha the manga version which made him look older but the CG is so oof...

Reminds me of Black Summoner sometimes but Black Summoner wasn't this bad and had a better opening.

I love the light novels of this. The animation was really good in the first episode but for episode 2 it was a CGI nightmare.
