I've just never liked the idea of betting that I'll die. I've done well but I've been way under insured in the past. Maybe, a bit under insured now. I'm in the process of choosing new benefits with a new employer. In orientation, the lady mentioned she has a lot of long term disability insurance. There is also catastrophic insurance and we can choose to have an attorney at a discount through my employer. We get 1.5 times our salary but we can purchase large term life policies. I've been procrastinating. I set up Roth 401k to get the company match and choose to choose my own investment options. But choosing insurance is overwhelming.

Years ago, my sister and her husband had very large term policies. At the time, they had 2 small children and a mortgage. Today at age 71 and 74, they are alive and well. I'm wondering, how much the money spent on ins would be worth if they had invested it instead. 🤔

Is 12x "too much" then at 25 debt free? It's cheap--around $30/month

It's death insurance. If your love one don't miss you. They may miss your paycheck.

10x my annual income? That’s like a ridiculous amount no? Millions of dollars.
