Seal U Hybrid vs Atto 3 EV Hybrid BYD vs Electric Review 2024 Price Range
Stop, if you are thinking of buying an e-vee right now. Just compare your intended e-vee against a modern plug-in hybrid, with a calm mind. If you are in the UK or Australia, BYD might be on your radar. They have certainly made a name for themselves as e-vee experts, but their plug-in hybrids are even better! Just look at the car named Seal U, DMI in the UK or the Sea Lion six in Australia. It costs almost the same as their own popular e-vee, the Atto three. But it is way superior than the Atto three in almost all aspects. It has over hundred extra horsepower than the Atto three, giving it comprehensively better performance. It is also a bigger in size compared to the Atto three and noticeably more spacious inside the cabin as well. But apart from all this, the most important aspect is the Seal or Sea Lion's pure-EV range. It is more than enough for ninety percent of your daily usage throughout the year. And on those holiday trips, your precious time won't be wasted on charging your car either.

1. 2024 BYD SEALION 6 Review | BYD’s ditches EV powertrain for new SUV – so is plug in hybrid better?
Chinese auto brand BYD is second only to Tesla in Australia’s EV sale race and if you include its hybrids it actually sells more vehicles than Tesla globally – and it’s a plug-in hybrid we’re testing here with the 2024 BYD Sealion 6. A direct rival for the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid – as well as the plug-in hybrid MG HS and Mitsubishi Outlander – this all-new mid-size SUV ticks all the boxes in terms of size, equipment levels, powertrain options and price. Priced from $48,990 plus on-road costs, the two-grade BYD Sealion 6 range opens with the entry-level Dynamic variant and closes with the more powerful Premium flagship, which costs $52,990 plus ORCs and delivers more than 200kW of power. Plug-in hybrid mid-size SUVs haven’t exactly captured the imagination of Aussie car buyers, so can BYD buck the trend with the first of several PHEV models it plans to launch here , as part of its stunning Australian market ambitions ? We sent Feann Torr to evaluate the model formerly known as the BYD Seal U for this full video review.

3. 2024 BYD Sealion 6 (inc. 0-100 & braking) review: All over for the Outlander and CX-60?
If you’re wondering what’s keeping Mitsubishi and Mazda up at night on the plug-in hybrid front? It’s the BYD Sealion 6! At well under $60,000 it represents excellent value for money and Paul Maric takes the 2024 BYD Sealion 6 Premium for a spin to see what it’s like.
