Friends, today in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about capture the flag.
Capture the flag is a traditional sport where two teams compete against each other for a flag.
The objective of the game for each team is to capture the other team's flag, located at the team's base, and bring it safely back to their own base.
The game Capture the flag is played between two teams of equal players.
This game is capable of being played outdoors and indoors on a playing field.
The playing is equally divided into two parts, which are labeled as territories each belonging to one team.
Both the teams are given one flag each of which they secure in their own territories.
The target for each team is to get the other team’s flag which is located at their base by replacing it with any small object that can be easily carried.
Both teams are also required to protect their own flag from being stolen.
In case the game takes place at night, flashlights, glow sticks, or lanterns are used.
In night matches, players are required to wear dark colors to increase the difficulty of seeing the teams.
It is necessary that the team should bring the opponent’s flag back safely to their base.
If any player is found in enemy territory, they can be tagged.
The result of tag varies and it depends on the agreed-upon rules that must be set before the starting of the game.
As a result of the tag, a player can either be out of the game, frozen, be forced to join the opposing team, sent back to their own territory, or can be put in jail.
As long as the players are their own territory, they are safe and cannot be tagged.
The first team that manages to capture the flag of the opponent’s team and bring it back to their own base wins.

We played this in my field day as a kid in Norwalk, Connecticut. The only thing I can't remember is what happens if you get tagged while you're running with the flag on the way back if you're still in the enemies camp

How I play the capture flag is there's a base the flags at the base there's also a flag return and if and you can shot even if they're in their own in territory and if you get shot with the flagyou have to drop it if the flag is by taken by the other team then it gets sent back to the base another teammate can prevent that from happening by grabbing a flag himself most of the time players will defend the one with the flag acting like they are a god the team with the most flags captured by the end of the game wins you can do it with Nerf, Airsoft, gel fire, laser Ops, or just in game like Call of Duty
