I am super glad that you did the white wax to bring out the detail‼️ My first thought when looking at the table was to paint it a dark color and then dry brush over the detail to bring it out with a medium toned color and then use white wax but I loved how it turned out with the deep dark blue, Midnight Sky and white wax 😍 Well done ❣️

I prefer the unwaxed version, but agree that the details needed to be highlighted. I would have dry- brushed in gold. Or used an artist's brush to paint color on the raised areas. Still, it looks much better than the yellow.

I thought Midnight Sky was a great color choice, and you brought the detail out with the wax.

The black was beautiful after you top coated it.
If it had been a smaller piece, the white wax would've worked. It wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't my favorite.
I think it would have been better if you had used a dark or brown wax, and then used some antique gold Rub N Buff on the details to make them pop.
I use Waverly's Antiquing Wax over my black chalk paint pieces. That product really gives the black chalk paint an enhanced glow.

I would have used gold gilding wax on the raised area
