Surface pro 4 vs Surface Pro 3: Should I Upgrade???

if the accessories are cross compatible with the same performance, I can't really see a reason to upgrade. I am actually waiting to see a surface pro 3 vs 4 video with both devices having same ram, memory, and processor go head to head. I still feel that this is a refresh more that an upgrade.

The keyboard and pen are not viable reasons to upgrade to the 4, cause they can be put on the 3.

Despite Microsoft's claims, reviewers who have compared models are saying the performance boost is hard to detect. Further, many are complaining that the SSDs in the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 should perform better than they do; a comparison with the MacBook Pro 13 confirmed this in one video review. I have the SP3 and bought the keyboard and new stylus. If I drew, I'd consider the upgrade, but as someone who takes notes, I don't really need the full benefit of the new pen. It's nice that you can now go up to 16GB, but I can't say I need that much on the go, and most who upgrade probably won't choose that option anyway. You can also go up to 1TB now, but again most who upgrade will find that option excessive and cost-exorbitant. To me, a better reason to upgrade would be if the $999 i5 model wiped the floor with the previous $999 i5 model I currently own, and that is not the case. Real-world comparisons also show marginal battery life gains. I just don't see it.

first of all let me say that you do a wonderful job in your videos. I always follow them with a lot of interest. This being said, as a surface pro 3 owner i don't really see any point in upgrading since i see this more as a refresh. We are talking about a machine that you paid up to more than 1000 euros, in order to upgraded it i might as well have to spend even more. For this kind of money i expect my device to last me at least 3/4 years. In order to buy a new model after barely a year i expect it to be more than revolutionary. as for the surface book, we are talking about a technology marvel from my point of view. But still. Is it really worth all that money?

I cant decide whether I should get a Surface Pro 4, i5, w/ 4gb RAM and 128gb SSD or a Surface Pro 3, i5, w/ 8gb RAM and 256gb SSD with a comparatively similar price. Im a college student looking for a laptop replacement (my recent one just broke) Is the Pro 4 worth it?

absolutely not worth an upgrade. worth buying sf4 over the sf3 if you don't already have one though.

like others have stated the performance  differences between  the pro 3 and pro 4 is negligible between the I 5 and i7 models.  I have a pro 3 i3 128gb model  and my friend has a pro 4 core m model 128gb  the $799. both with 4gb ram at first  the two seemed to have identical performance. but the pro 3 seemed to run photoshop and games faster and smoother. the battery life between them seems to about the same  strange enough. if you want a pro 4  get either the i5 or i7 one. if you want in the $799 range get the pro 3 i3  128gb which you can still buy now at $699. basically its just a refresh nothing major really. but really the major improvements are the new pen and keyboards which works great with both pro 3 and pro 4

mate, I have always loved your videos, but I have to say I am disappointed. As a surface 3 owner and lover who uses it every day, I see no reason to update at all. there is nothing new here for me. this is clearly a paid advertisement. Pretty gutted as I really hold your opinion highly. I guess it has to be done to pay the bills. Still love your vids.

Ok scenario here. I had a surface pro 3 for a few months which I sold awaiting the Pro 4. I had the i7 512gb model so similarly I wanted to go for the same model in the pro 4 but I am not actually pleased with Microsoft pricing of the pro 4 model. The dilemma now is, I can get the Surface pro 4 16gb i7 512gb for £1550 or I can get the Surface pro 3 8gb i7 512gb for only £850. In that situation, what would you do? I can obviously get the new type cover and new pen with the SP3.

I do have almost a year a surface 3 not pro, i want to upgrade to surface pro 3.. Since my day to day are using microsoft office and web browsing.. The reason want to upgrade from sf 3 to sf pro 3 is surface 3 are using atom chip and i want use more powerfull chip but not too expensive..
Please advise, should or shouldnt upgrade?

hello. do you think it's worth as a student's tablet and a hosting machine for photoshop with external monitor, or i should go with surface book? i mean i love the ability of making conspects on my surface pro 2 but have to use my gaming laptop for games and ps stuff (i draw from time to time). also is it reliable enough in terms of ordering it to Russia cuz they don't sell it here, though i don't want to get a piece with issues cuz i'll not be able to replace it.
