前作が素晴らしいのは当然だが、
新作にも前作から受け継ぐ良いシーンもありますね。

Vice Adm. Hughwood(Hawood in here) was only few "words" in original novel.
In old OVA, he had more story with his lieutenant. His 7th fleet had been defeat by Kircheis in very short cut and surrendered; when 13th fleet was retreating via 7th fleet's location, Yang have to fight with Kircheis without 7th fleet's aid.
In novel, Yang had disengaged with losses, but in here, Hughwood sacrificed himself to save Yang, a "powerful" modification and saved Hughwood's honor.

In the game scenario "Deadline", 7th fleet was facing hopeless battle, I was always commanded 7th fleet to "run for life".

The most impressive part about this to me isn't the modern animation style, but the return of... noses!

1:17 I've don't ever remember Kircheis making frustrated/angry facial expressions, normally he would look a little bit surprised before then changing to a more intrigued expression. The only time I remember him displaying an expression like this is when he spoke to Reinhard that time in the hallway of the Brunhild telling him to be a little more lenient with his subordinates.

While i dont really like this new rebooted LOGH because its to short, to rushed, this final battle was very good. Remnants of 7th fleet engaging Kircheis fleet, priceless! together with music, this is the best scene of entire rebooted LOGH.

And this is why an EDF fleet from space yamato 2202 would win. They arent limited to mostly being head to head, but the wave motion guns would make quick work of most those ships
