Daniel's diagonal pentatonic course enabled me to completely level up my playing, and it happened so fast. I was stuck in the first pentatonic box we all learn for literal decades until I stumbled upon this channel last summer, gave the course a shot, it changed my whole mindset about what I'm capable of on guitar. I can't recommend this course enough.

This is fantastic. Just what I needed- telling me where the important note is. Thank you.

Love this lesson, great one Daniel. One thing I love doing when playing over a blues progression is seeing where your major third fits in... don't necessarily resolve the entire progression on the major third note because it can sound pretty weird and out of place but just occasionally throw it in. it's amazing how much it completely changes the tonality. The concept of mixing major and minor together is a great tool I've found. I try to do it all the time now when i'm jamming over tracks. Combine both major and minor with the blues notes and that forms what they call the "Claptatonic scale" which is a cheeky reference to Eric Clapton lol.

I purchased the diagonal pentatonic course to which has really helped me to propel my guitar playing :) that I purchased the Diagonal Arpeggio solo course, and though they're mapped out well, I struggle to use in context. It will be great to see videos with their uses.... Thankyou :)

Sorry if this is a dumb question; is the G7 just a turn around cord or "pass through"? I thought a 12 bar blues just had I, IV, and V cords.

I'm just curious as to your choice of the Fm7 chord shape. It seems a lot more in keeping with the Cm7 chord shape if you play the standard first position D chord shape with the root of the minor chord on the 5th string and the Fm7 in the shape of D on the top 3 strings instead of the barre chord version you're playing. Just an observation. I believe I learned that minor 7th chord shape from the Mickey Baker jazz book.

Do you have any lessons explaining all these 7 chords and why we need to know them. I can play a handful 7 chords and arpeggios but I don’t get the whole idea behind them and why this 7 stuff appears everywhere. Sorry can’t think of a better way to ask, that’s how confused I am about the whole 7 concept.
