Good video. One additional tidbit about the Citi AAdvantage Executive Elite card (that gets you AAdmiral's club access) is that you can add up to 8 AU for free and each of them get their own AADmiral's club membership access. Each cardholder can also bring 2 guests in for free. So you could theoretically get 27 people into an AAdmiral's club with just the one credit card account.

These are some awesome tips to keep in mind. I think personally, those virtual card numbers are going to be the most practical for me. This was one thing I really liked about the X1 card for free trials and such (although I don’t have the X1 yet), so this is cool to know I can do that with my custom cash. Thanks for the video!

Citi may be loose with the reconsideration but I was told by them if you are rejected due to inquiries they are not able to override the decision.

I applied on Friday for the Custom cash card and it stayed a pending status but waited until today Tuesday and no new update from Citi and then I google the application line to call and when I got finally so I called in told the representative that my application it’s says a pending and she double verify my personal information and put me in wait status two times and the in the last moment when she came back she told that congratulations you were approved for the Citibank credit card with a limit of $8, 600 and with a APR 26.99% and they pull my Equifax report and in the time of the inquiry I had a score of 702 so I got very excited 😂 and emotionally also because more than 10 to 15 years that I don’t have a Citi credit card. Very lovely!!!

Ben, is it true that Citi no longer allows us to product change to a Citi Custom Cash card if we already have one/more Custom Cash cards? That's a big downer, if true. I was planning on getting a Citi Premier and a year later, PC-ing it to a Custom Cash...

Thank you Ben for another great video that's well laid out and easy to follow with visual aids.

You can get 10X on a $1000 Airbnb booking by selecting Airbnb's two payment option when you book. Just split the two payments over two separate Citi monthly statements. The Custom Cash gives you 5X on Airbnb. And the Premier Transfer Partners give 2X on that. No other 2-card combination will give you that on Airbnb.
In my case, $500 is 7% utilization on my $6800 Custom Cash. I could go hiking or mountain biking at a special place up in the mountains every month, and I could take my Citi Premier along to buy gas and groceries and dining at 3X. And it all pools together into points I can use to book a vacation using an airline. It's clean and efficient.
So what do I do for 5X groceries in the months where I booked Airbnb on the Custom Cash? Just use my AMX Gold Card for 4X. AMX Membership Rewards can be multiplied 2.2X to become 8.8X with Transfer Partners.
With that combination you are always winning.

I tried the reconsideration two times and was denied. I have excellent credit utilization 2% never late. Reconsideration department is a waste of time.

I'm not following you at @6:20. Can you explain why I would need a Citi premier card in addition to the custom cash card to get that 2x point value you described? What would stop me from "transferring the points out to an airline partner to book business/first class" tickets (at a higher value) directly from my Citi Custom Cash account (without the premier card)?

I'm not super familiar with citi (only have the Costco Card so far). Please help me understand, as this strategy is enticing to me!

Took me 3 times to get their Custom Cash Card….still had to go through reconsideration line, and have them elevate my application for review
