Love anything where ppl talk about the songwriting.

Edit: Ringo was way more than a time keeper. He was responsible for the overall feel, which his sense of humor and personality was a huge part of.

Is there a part two of this going into 66’ and on?

This was a nice video… one I hadn’t seen before. And I’ve seen a lot of them.
Was nice how they describe how the Beatles evolved! I I
I was six years old when they exploded into the United States… I did not see the first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show I think my parents wanted to watch Bonanza that night. But oh boy I heard about it the next day. Every kid in school had their hair combed down, I was the odd man out.
As I got older The Beatles got older. In fact, they briefly evolved past me. In fourth grade I switched to the Monkees. But as I became more sophisticated, I switched back to the Beatles.
For 10 years wherever the Beatles were, that’s where music was on the musical evolution timeline.
Bands like the Rolling Stones, Animals, and the beach boys, etc. would leapfrog with them but they leapfrogged back.
Yes, they were not the best musicians… they even acknowledged that… But they didn’t have to be. They were the best composers of the 20th century… Just listen to all the Philharmonics and orchestras and flamingo guitar players play their songs, instrumental.
Plus, the Beatles paid their dues, came out of the cellars of Liverpool and step by step worked their way up, and just kept getting better. They are a gift that keeps on giving!

John never said "Ringo's not even the best drummer in the Beatles". That actually is a line from a comedy skit done by some British comedy group. So sad it's become an urban legend

The best quote that George Martin came out with, is when he said, when we began, I was the teacher, and the Beatles were my pupils. He then adds, after a few years, I became the pupil as the Beatles had become the teachers.

This documentary should be titled, "Their Ed Sullivan appearances and two clips from A Hard Day's Night".

The guy who mentioned the comment about Ringo not being the best drummer in The Beatles and attributing the comment to John, got it hopelessly wrong. The comment was made by a comedian Jasper Carrot.

John never said that Ringo wasn’t the best drummer in the Beatles. That’s an old wives tale.

I've had several bass players tell me they learned a lot from listening to Paul McCartney's bass playing. Then I started listening and I developed a deep appreciation for his bass lines. He's a great all-round instrumentalist for a rock band!

Above average -- nice that most of it was built around "Ed Sullivan Show" -- which actually had the most advanced sound on all TV.
