Poet. Rock god. Lizard king. Rock and roll icon Jim Morrison was a tortured soul who wound up a member of the unfortunate 27 Club. Unless he faked his own death, that is.

I've always found Morrison fascinating. It's a shame he didn't recognize his true talents and died so young.

I've loved The Doors since I first heard 'Light My Fire' (both the longer and the short versions) on the radio as a 5th grader back in 1967, and became hooked for life on The Doors - Ray's great keyboarding, and Jim and his singing.

My parents told me to stop criticizing Jim, because they don’t like it when people slam The Doors in their house.

RIP, Jim. The world needs more original artists like him. Not the same obviously but someone with talent and intelligence.

Another Val Kilmer movie role we all should praise. Val is one of, if not the best, actors of our generation. Jim was a great singer...had to put that in...Gotta love the Doors!

Crazy to think the Doors were musically active for about 4 years and they produced so many masterpieces within that time whilst experimenting with almost every genre around at the time, the only other bands to accomplish a similar achievement is Led Zeppelin and CCR and Jim wrote a vast majority of their songs, so the Doors and Jim Morrison are the type of legends you can’t fuck with

Jim Morrison was allegedly molested as a child repeatedly by someone close to the family. His mother called him a liar and never believed the story, which lead to Morrison's life of addiction and mental Child abuse is the root of most dysfunction...

Jim had an IQ of 147 which made him isolated. His father was an Admiral in the Navy. Who played a significant role in the Vietnam war. Sequestering him from his family. When he was able to formulate a connection with someone. He would be compelled to push that relationship to its very limit and the fans came to be overwhelming for him. The only man who truly understood Jim Morrison was Jack Danniels nevertheless Jim did not do heroin or drink till he was unconscious in order to die. He did those things to try and feel alive.

Look at all the old videos of Jim Morrison and his clothing style. What he has on could be worn in 2023. Now, look at what other rock stars have on in old videos from the 60's. If they had what they have on in the 60's today they would be laughed off the stage. Jim Morrison is the only person I have seen in old videos that dress in a style that could be worn by all generations.

I grew up hearing the doors' music because my siblings were 9 and 10 years older than me. Loved the music and still love the music...

Morrison being in the Doors was like a "stepping stone" for his path to become a great poet and he hated to be called the sex symbol of Rock n' Roll
