A No Nonsense Tutorial For People Who Value Their Time.

To reset the maintenance light on your Toyota Prius, insert the key, then press and hold the Trip Odometer button.

Next, press the power button two times to turn on your car.

On the instrument panel, look at the mileage indicator which is just below the fuel gauge: you should see a series of dashed lines counting down.

Continue holding the trip odometer button, and when all the dashed lines disappear, the maintenance light will be reset.

The light will come on automatically after 5,000 miles, when it’s time for your next oil change.

I remember before I was into cars I drove a 09 prius. took it to Jiffy Lube and was told "the light never goes off." LMAO. Found a youtube video and reset it myself. I hope this helps a lot of current Prius owners.

Thumbs up, thanks for the quick and helpful video.

I just picked up an 07 prius and changed the oil, etc, but the maintenance light came on about 2-weeks later, and this fixed it.

Worked on my 2005 Prius after I was long over due for an oil change 😅 I thought something was wrong with my car but juts needs to resent the light! Thanks!

These instructions do not work as stated. You must first make sure your Prius is in Odometer mode, and not Trip A / B mode.

This worked with one tweak, I had to hold down the odor/trip reset button while I started the car .. and keep holding it thru the process.

I had a error code (P0420) that I wanted to reset to see if it came back. Did this method and it never came back!

I did this Google query and the AI -generated solution told me: To reset the maintenance light on a Prius, turn the key to the "on" position without starting the car, then press and hold the trip odometer reset button on the dashboard while simultaneously turning the key to the "start" position... Did Toyota Priuses ever have ignition keys?

I cant find the “Trip” botton on my 2015 prius. There is no ODO it only says trip. And the light is still there

First step is to be in ODOMETER SETTING and NOT TRIP miles because it won't work otherwise Shut off cr then hold left hand trip meter button and press Power Button twice...you will see hash marks and then delete themslelves and shut off MANTENANCE lite. Press Power to shut off and then your done.

Don’t follow this video. Absolutely does not work and described by an actual bozo. What you do is make sure the Odometer is up. Turn off the car. Then hold the ODO/Trip Button while pushing start twice. Keep holding until the dashes count down to zero and it’s reset.
Clearly the poster hasn’t the faintest clue what’s going on.
