Snow beast, I like it, great review. Good car for those who don't want a turbo, don't want a hybrid, don't want an electronic lift gate, don't want a panoramic roof but want a huge gas tank with a long range, a low cost price, great gas mileage with AWD.

My biggest wish for this car would be that it came in manual. I understand the reasoning for not having them anymore. Just having a cheap manual car for anyone to buy I think was what convinced me to buy one.

I expected this to have the turbocharged engine that's in the XT models. So close to being a hot hatch!

I can’t get past how the foglight surrounds look exactly like 👉 👈

Thats how the new WRX should look. IMO. Thanks for the review, Ryan!

I have a 2018 Crosstrek, which is great. Still no need to upgrade at this point, large screen aside. I like the “windows 95” wallpaper reference haha 😂

Excellent review. It's the most in-depth I've seen. I appreciate you even going extensively into the display screen's functions. I don't mind the length of the video because it was justified with quality content. Thank you, sir!

As the owner of a 2008 base impreza hatch. I would totally get this

I think this is what the WRX should look like. I love the mid 2000's version of the STI and I really liked the hatchback STI that they released before. This kind of falls in line with that styling. Honestly, even at the base model's price on the Impreza, it's a fantastic deal. Standard Subaru AWD and all of the safety features for $19, 800 or so. Truly a solid deal considering how expensive most every other vehicle is in 2023

Absolutely agree with the assessment on how much worse the last gen base model was. We had on in our motor fleet - I thought it was awful compared to our Escape and Toyota alternatives. Thought I was going crazy seeing the good (at the time) reviews.

If the WRX just looked like this I'd totally buy one

If you are a car enthusiast on a budget you simply can't afford a brand new WRX no matter how much you may want one. The previous Impreza sport never sold well because it was underpowered, unattractive and even the manual 5 speed was rubbery and imprecise. So if your a serious car enthusiast on a budget looking for something new your options is something like the Civic Sport that is still available with a manual or just buy a used WRX with high miles that is within your budget. I my self had to buy a used 05 WRX 10 years ago because I could not afford a new one at the time. But it has served me well and still enjoy driving it.

Honestly, Subaru should have offered this trim with a manual. They didn’t give us a turbo version, no manual, and won’t listen to consumers about making a hatchback wrx. Subaru is turning into a boring car company slowly but surely. That’s coming from someone who has owned multiple Subarus and still drives one now.

I think it's poor to think that if you want more than what the impreza can offer, that the only option is the WRX, they should just put the 1.8 turbo in the impreza and give it 200hp and 215lbs cvt only and the more aggressive awd and calll it a day. I think it would make a night and day differenc and more people would transfer over to subaru as a brand

Great review! I have a 2022 Impreza Sport and really love it. For my needs it is roomy, relatively fun to drive, and fairly economical. Sounds like the 2.5RS is a nice upgrade, just wish it came with a spare. Not enough changes to make me want to trade, but love the updates Subaru made. All the small changes really add up.

Sad to see the manual trans go the way of the dinosaurs. I love Subarus I love their all wheel drive sys I don’t love cvt or automatic transmissions. I drove a 2007 forester w a 5 spd mt for 12 yrs in Nevada and you could not get it stuck anywhere and I used to explore the desert mountains in it. Crazy good car.

Ryan, Subaru is never gonna take the L regarding the lack of physical hvac controls if reviewers like you don’t stop saying how ‘pretty neat!’ useless features like ‘acceleration pedal angle’ are.
