180 HP and a CVT is not the recipe for a hot hatch 😂

Calling that a hot hatch is a real stretch, by that definition a Prius is a hot hatch

I like mine a lot. It’s definitely not a “hot hatch” by any means, but it’s packed with features and makes for a good commuter car

How do you guys not know the purpose of the RS model? Its a factory rolling chasis for teams to build a car around. Its supposed to just be basic, except for the body work.

I have this too except they made it in 2011 and it has a stick without any of the "look at me lol" touches

Best car I ever owned

Nice little commuter car definitely like that blue

This thing is a hot hatch in the same way MD 20/20 is a wine.

Not what I would call hot hatch. That's just an Impreza with black wheels.

Does it have an option for manual transmission? If not, I’m not interested.

I can’t see this selling for anything over 30k

This is VERY nice. If it’s built in Japan I may choose it over a Corolla hatch. It’s roomier inside and looks great!

My quest for a daily driver continues. Keeping my HD truck but most definitely need a smaller fuel efficient vehicle.

Things slow as. The new Prius is faster. Tell me how that makes sense?

How is everyone forgetting the rs is supposed to be a flashy base model type car for Subaru to then build around for future better projects, this is just the beginning

its not fast but its a very enjoyable car. it feels very solid and yes while it does take a little longer than a corvette to get up to speed i have zero issues except a clanking when shifting into gear and a burning smell which i assume are the new tires but its odd after 150 miles

I love the impreza but confused if I should go for impreza sport or the new forester?

Subaru holds this car back imo. It lacks so many features other brands have while being just as if not more expensive. I get all Subarus have AWD but when you have the WRX AND the Crosstrek, I think this is the one time I would suggest dropping it so you can position it as a mainstream fwd car and so you can add the content people want. My Civic does just fine in a reasonable amount of snow. Ground Clearance becomes an issue far sooner than AWD. But what I do have it a full digital cluster, leather seats, etc. ATP I wouldn’t be surprised if Subaru doesn’t give this a hybrid and lets it face into obscurity instead of investing in it to at least be a 100k a year. Cause it’s not bad looking and more practical than the Civic hatchback because of the traditional shape.

There is nothing hot about it. They bring out a sharp looking hatchback just in time to divorce the WRX from the Impreza, make it ugly, and kill the STI thus dashing all hopes of an STI hatch that people had been wanting for years

Lol this thing is pretty sad tbh. Only 180hp and a cvt like really? Give it at least 200hp/185lbft and a 8 speed auto or 6 speed manual then people will actually be interested

Even calling this tepid would be an overstatement

Such a shame the rs should have gotten 200hp 182lb-ft and a manual option Subaru messed up on this one they had a chance to make a fun little hot hatch with the 2.5 RS
