How To Design Your Church Video System Workflow and Output

When it comes to designing a church video system, there are many paths you can go. One of the first questions I always ask is what will the in-house people see and what will the online people see? Are they the same or are they different?

In this video, I want to help you understand the workflow and path your video travels and how each audience sees what and how your equipment redirects or enhances these choices.

How about using multiple displays in house say 3 different screens and able to show any cameras or software to any of the displays?

We have an ATEM Studio HD and use the Aux out for the in house which stays primarily on full screen presentation but we have the ability if needed to switch it to a camera. The main feed from the ATEM goes to OBS then out to neverland.

Thank you so much for a very detailed explanation of an admittedly complex topic. I have a question: Does OBS / Vmix live on the "Presentation software" computer, or would it be better to have a separate laptop for the OBS only? I'm just getting started, but your videos are helping a lot.

Hi Ajay, thanks for the video. Can you please provide some suggestions on lighting for live stream?

I have similar setup. The only difference I use vimx on one computer to live stream and graphics. The other vmix computer runs presenter. Lower thirds or full
Screen goes over to the streaming pc via NDI into vmix.

AJay, have you had any experience with the ATEM Studio HD?

I'd love too see a workflow with what you have but using zoom as well. We not only broadcast to zoom but we also have people interacting on zoom as well.. hybrid church! Trying to find a not so complicated way around it! Our workflow is similar to the one where we don't see any cameras in church

Great work here Ajay. Would be great to see a workflow with 2 cameras, a computer with presentation software, all feeding in to a mixer/switcher (Roland v-4ex). An output of just lyrics and bible verses being shared to the HDMI splitter to multiple in house screens in the church including an LED wall, as well as a lower thirds output for streaming, with the same text. Really struggling with the setup unfortunately. Remain blessed.

For the last workflow shown, does the computer (presentation software) need 2 outputs going into the switcher one for lower thirds and another for full screen?

2 questions 1 is what is the difference between a video matrix and a video hub. And if I understand what the difference is then can you put a video matrix in this complexity.

I know ProPresenter allows multiple NDI outputs, can Worship Extreme do that yet?

Please add audio workflow too 💐✝️💐. Because audio is the 50% of video
