We have used QR codes through email to our members for surveys made in google forms. It works great for gathering responses into google sheets. Also we add QR codes into our Bulletins that link to flyers for special events.

I realize iPhones dominate the US market; however, there are still plenty of Android phones around also. I've seen some fancy designed QR codes (using different shapes for the blocks inside the code such as stars) that worked just fine on iPhones but would not read at all even on the most recent, flagship Android phones. I've had to remake some QR codes sent to me from others into something less fancy in order for the wider audience to be able to use the QR.
